I have no idea if it's happening or not, but it's based on this post from Cardinals reporter Mike Jurecki. I would be surprised if Amos is officially a 'former' coach. I'm thinking he probably misspoke, but hey, who knows.

Ok, so we have a couple coaching vacancies and not a peep at who they are looking at to hire. Like I said before, it's tough being a Steeler fan in the off-season!

THere was a report yesterday that Hal Hunter found a new gig. Maybe he's headed back home to PA, although philly hasn't hired an oline coach yet either. I'm amazed at how quiet the Amos firing/dismissal?whatever was.

I hear ya. I'm ok with that honestly. Could you imagine being a fan of the Browns. Those people always have something to talk about. :lolol:
Oh yeah! Who knows who picked him up, though. "Sources" out of the organization are quiet as can be this offseason.

Well, they kept the firing of Amos a secret, maybe they'll keep the hiring of the new guy a secret too. Shhhhh.

Isn't Al Everest still available? Be good boys and share the sandbox, he was doing a good job here IMO.. However, if the sandbox is too small give Jerry Olsavsky a shot.. He's on staff as a defensive asst and was a pretty good STer in his day.

I just don't see Everest coming back. There must have been something major that happened to get him fired like that. Unfortunately it will probably always remain behind closed doors.

First we fire Al Everest and the reason we fired him is kept top secret. Now we fire Amos and his entire firing is kept top secret. What's next??

The Steelers are about as transparent as the government.

What has been so special about Jones special teams? According to the stats for 2012, NOTHING. On receiving kickoffs the steelers ranked 27th, on defending kickoffs they ranked 24th, I would have been looking for a new ST coach without the cards trying to hire Jones away from me, in fact he would have already been let go...By the way, the steelers ranked real high at number 6 in total team penalties, that means they played un-disciplined football this year, and that points directly to the Head Coach....

Why did Amos leave just to take the same position with another team? Money or do you think maybe he saw the writing on the wall and knew he'd be fired? I'm not sure they would have fired him at this point, seems pretty mean not do it right away so he can latch on with another team.
