Got a bad vibe about this Mets series. I'm feeling we are going to have a broom up our ass come Wednesday night:(

Last I checked they were up 1-0. I thought that the starting pitching would be sketchy but the bullpen was sound. It has turned out quite the opposite so far. I hope they don’t make a habit of snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Idiot Shelton takes out Jones who had thrown 59 pitches, 50 for strikes. Guy had a 1 hitter going. Our starters are doing great.

And so it begins:crycry: first broom up our butts this season and I'm sure there will be others. Damn shame they wasted good starting pitching but Shelton wants to save their arms for the dog days and they only go 5 innings. Then the relievers suck it.

Greg Maddux had good velocity early in his career, but he rarely threw as hard as he could. I've never seen a pitcher as good as Maddux at changing speeds and locations on his pitches.

Well none of us believed they were going to be good anyway. Just wish we could field a good team

Make that 6 straight. Back at an even .500. Now they get the Brewfarts for 4 in a row.

Haines has to go. He didn't do well with the brew crew and the pirates stink under his coaching.

Too bad Chapman and Bednar can't pitch well in the same game. The Cuban Nightmare just about lost that 3 run lead last night with 3 straight walks.

Falter does not "falter" yet again. Bucs take 2 straight from the Brew Crew.

And just when I think Cutch is going to be a drain he smacks lead-off homers.

I get nervous when either comes in. I hate when they blow the game after our starter did a great job.

Day game. Would be happy to take 3 of 4 from Brewers. Sure hope it happens!! Damn wind is going to keep me home so I'll tune in.

I root against the money teams. I think the Baltimore Orioles are my new second favorite team. Their payroll is still under 100 million and they won 100 games last season and are keeping up with the Yankees who sure as hell are over 200 million. I don't follow the AL closely so I have no idea how it's working so well for them. My guess would be they got extremely lucky with rookie contracts to guys that worked out. That is something the Pirates seem to screw up all the time:(

I still have visions of a game I attended at Dodger Stadium and sat down close to the field - Jason Kendall beat the living hell out of Gary Sheffield in a questionable collision at home plate. Kendall didn't have a scratch on him and Sheffield was a bloody mess. And dude could hit in spite of that freak accident running to first when his foot nearly fell off. A real man's man catcher. :thumbs up: Give me some Russell Martin, Sangy and Smoky Burgess while we're at it!
