You do f**king realize that we were all wrong about everything and the organization might be in worse shape because of it, right? I mean, is anyone really going to f**king gloat about the Steelers QB situation?

Well.....if Kenny was the guy, he certainly isn't now.

He will have to find his own path with another team.

    Someone is upset.
They act like I'm in charge.
Hell If I was in charge I would have kept KFP, Mason, and Wilson, and made them actually battle it out every freaking day , and then went from there. As the season has shown.....We will more than likely need more than one Qb over the season.

Awe just another 1st round pick wasted no big deal right? Another failure by the organization and coach. Sweep it under the rug.

So now we sit with Our #1 QB who we hope has gas left in the tank somewhat full. And a turnover machine who is a 3rd year cast off. Both on a low budget deal.

I'm not sympathizing with Pickett after his not rising to the challenge. But anytime you miss on a QB it's a step back. That's reality. Spin it to your liking.

So we shall see how it all plays out. This team is not a finished product. Or close to it. Or can compete for a Championship. How about getting to a playoff game without all the planets aligning? How about the defense stepping up in said playoff game and not getting shelled? Lets see that happen.
    Lets see it...

Kenny played under a inept Matt Canada, offensive coordinator. And in the first two games post Canada, Kenny was completing over 70% of his passes... with the first game having lead the Steelers to over 400 yards of offense, on a road win, for the first time since Canada was released. I don't know if Kenny will be good or not... but the two QB's the Steelers currently have... both had WORSE records than Kenny. Mike Tomlin crapped his pants in concern about the rising talk of him take the Steelers nowhere in over a decade... so Tomlin mortgaged the Steelers future by signing Wilson and then brought in Justin Fields who proved to be one of the absolute worst 4th quarter QBs in the league.

Mason really didn’t give Steelers to sign him from what I read. He told them that he wanted to try out free agency and agreed to terms with Titans on the first day of free agency. He never gave Steelers a chance to match offer. He wanted out.

I voted franchise QB for next 10 years.

I thought Pickett would improve under a better coordinator... Smith. Never thought Steelers would acquire Wilson and Fields.

I thought franchise Qb too. I thought the intangibles were there. He just needed a good coordinator.

I’m still surprised by the wilson move. Yeah some people call it a no brainer and yet the dozen or so Qb needy teams didn’t pounce.

I think its Tomlin trying to fast track one more SB run before he leaves.

    who is the "we" here?

I assume you mean the FO - Management, Leadership? Yes - they screwed up ROYALLY. I (we, you , me - US FANS) had no say - zero, zippo, nothing.

in the REAL WORLD, this is called accountability. Heads usually roll. Folks are put on short leashes and PIP plans.

    Stay tuned

We have been screwing up for a while now.....

I hate this topic more than I hate...... well, anything.
I've been a QB, Been around QB's help coach QB's, been best buddies with QB's... etc... for many years.

Pittsburgh gets a big red 'F' for it's handling of QB's from the last 4 years of Big Ben's career.
Really it started with the hiring of Matt Canada and got worse each year they kept him after the world recognized he wasn't any good.
It got even worse when Ben retired as they signed Mitch Trubisky and even decided to start him regardless of the fact that Mason was outperforming him all preseason.
    AND
Matt Canada was still pretending to be an Offensive Coordinator.

It should have been #1 Mason, #2 Mitch, #3 Kenny with Kenny and Mitch dueling it for the #2 spot. (And a new OC)
In season 2 I could see letting Mitch go, Mason as #1 (provided the prior year was decent) Kenny being #2 and picking up a draft pick QB or maybe a free Agent and FOR SURE a new OC.

But it is water under the bridge.
I hate Philly a lot, but I shook Kenny's hand and wished him good luck there as I hope he does well.

While he fell short of answering the bell, Matt Canada did him nor any Steeler player any favors. He is unemployed now, and should not be anything other than a position coach at the college level.

This is mostly spot on, but Rudolph did not outperform Trubisky all preseason. He started faster in camp, which made sense because he was the one guy who wasn't new to the team. Trubisky and Pickett were both better than Trubisky in the preseason games.

I'll raise my hand. My son is at Pitt getting his PHD in Mathematics, so I am a fan, but that is not why I am upset about the trade. I am upset because the Steelers totally mismanaged the situation. There are only two possible reasons. Either Kenny was never going to be the answer, which means the Steelers never should have drafted him in the first round, or he could have been, and the organization screwed it up with a terrible OC and O line. Either way, the team bears the responsibility for the failure.

Really, it goes back to not having an exit plan for Ben. Or having several plans but not sticking to one.
