The Steelers are facing the most difficult schedule in the league based on Vegas forecasted win totals of opponents.

This can move a little still and teams that are expected to be good can often be bad etc but it’s still interesting to see this

How does this happen with our 10-7 record?

Playing in a very tough division, extra away game and just bad matchup luck I suppose.

I was surprised to see this I must say

This is good. No more losing to winless teams.

Strength of schedule before the draft and/or training camp?

    That should stick.

As of now of course... It would be a safe bet to think that much (if not the entirety) of that list is going to change over the course of the season. Some teams will greatly over-achieve. Some will under-achieve. Some will be dealt season devastating injuries (look at what happened to the Jets to start the season last year). Much can and will change.

Doesn't seem like much separates the hardest from the (nearly) easiest.

    Pittsburgh Steelers - SOS: 32nd
    Home
Bengals, Browns, Ravens... Chargers, Chiefs, Cowboys, Giants, Jets

    Away
Bengals, Browns, Ravens... Broncos, Colts, Commanders, Eagles, Falcons, Raiders

    Cincinatti Bengals - SOS: 3rd
    Home
Browns, Ravens, Steelers... Broncos, Commanders, Eagles, Patriots, Raiders

    Away
Browns, Ravens, Steelers... Chargers, Chiefs, Cowboys, Giants, Panthers, Titans

Small margins. And of course you’ll have injuries that will play a part. When you play a particular team can have a big bearing as well as form goes up and down.

This is not based on Win - Loss percentages from last year.

It is a new "PFF" type version of Strength of schedule that has nothing to do with actual wins and Losses, but has to do with pretend Wins and losses, like PFF's win pass rushing rate. Not actual facts, but more in the Fantasy realm like PFF Stats.

It's projected wins/losses, which tells me @truckin9999@truckin9999 was no part of the proceedings. Pretty sure he's got the Steelers pegged to go 17-0 again this year.

    1. Play against one of the better divisions (NFC East)
    2. Play Jets with Rodgers expected to play

Facing 6 more wins compared with Bengals based on Vegas projections that Sharp uses. The difference based on win percentage from last year (hardest 0.55 - easiest 0.45) is 0.1 which is <2 wins.

    Steelers opponents: Jets 9.5, Colts 8.5, Falcons 9.5 = 27.5 wins

    Bengals opponents: Patriots 6.5, Panthers 7.5, Titans 7.5 = 21.5 wins

Pittsburgh was expected to have an easier schedule last year but they had actually had one of the hardest.

He made it like 2 plays last year, right? Probably spent the off-season working on his man bun and practicing his jeopardy lines. Might not do much better this year.....lol

That's interesting. I wouldn't have guessed six-win (projected) difference on the face of the teams alone. At least they have some of the tougher matchups at home (even though they only notched a 5-4 record there in 2023).

My only complaint is having to go to Philly since we had to play there last time we played them.

We are playing the AFC West and NFC East this year, so I am happy we are getting both their #1 Seeds at home this year in Pittsburgh, and Playing their #2 seeds on the road.

At home the Steelers will play the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns in the North, in addition to the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants and the New York Jets.

On the road the team will face Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland, as well as the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders.
