I don't remember the exact timing. I thought they re-signed him when they traded Dobbs.

Funny, Bills had two QB's named Allen. Maybe they will get their wires crossed and we will get Josh.

Yes Hodges was waived after the last cut but then was brought back when Dobbs was traded.

When Mitch was a Steeler, he certainly played like number 2.

Please, I think Pickett's ceiling was revised down to about where Rudolph is now, but he was doing better post Canada as well.

The puzzling thing is that the Bills saw what Trubisky did and wanted to bring him back, then traded their B/U to the Steelers.

It wasn't a trade. He was a free agent, the Steelers signed him. Much like the Bills did with Trubisky.

Also, Trubisky is bad, but Kyle Allen is worse.

Kahn came out and said they wanted Wilson to help work with Kenny, but then things fell out the way they did.

Remember when Cooper Rush came in for an injured Dak Prescott and led the Cowboys to consecutive wins? Whatever happened to that guy? He's still a backup.

Khan also said they still had full faith in Pickett, then traded him. If you have full faith in a quarterback and there are still two more years on his rookie deal, you don't trade him.

Again, Kenny himself said he felt it was time to move on and asked to be traded. Khan also said he still thinks Pickett can develop even after the trade. Those 2 things can be true.

He could have had full faith in him, then after they bring Wilson in to on a cheap deal expecting to help Pickett and Pickett not taking it well asking to move on, trade him. Those things are not mutually exclusive.

Only an idiot would give up on a quarterback they still believed in when the guy still had two years left on his rookie deal. Quarterbacks are too valuable and Khan is not an idiot.

There was a very short period between the news breaking about Wilson and trading Pickett. That tells me the Steelers didn't bother to try to talk him down. They wanted to go after Fields and they clearly did not believe in Pickett any longer.

Are you saying Khan is an idiot or that he no longer believed in Kenny?

I'm saying he was lying when he said he still had full faith and confidence in Pickett. I'm fine with it. He was either going to have to stick with Pickett for another year if the other options didn't work out or he was going to try to trade him, so keeping up his confidence and value as much as possible had to be a priority. I'm saying that trading Pickett for such a small return proves he no longer had faith in him.

Agreed. Khan is super smart. He saw Pickett sucked and played it in a way to dump his ass and move on.

Good for Rooney for promoting Khan. I hope Khan is given veto power over whoever Tomlin sees as "good players".

He could still be wrong about that, and perhaps he just wanted to move on to his own guy instead of having his fate tied to Colbert's choice, but at least we can agree that he lied to the fans and to Pickett.

Yes, people lie in real life. The more money is at stake, the bigger the lie. Expecting otherwise is, frankly, naive.

The "lies" go both ways. An employee/employer must say "I am in love with my employer/employee" until the day the day they part ways. It's a lie, but that's how things work.

I'm sorry if this revelation is such a shock... usually people learn it in their 20s when they get into the work force (like Pickett did).

I'm not saying it is a shock to me or anybody else. It shouldn't have been a shock to Pickett. There have been people insisting the Steelers didn't lie and that anyone who knows better isn't much of a fan. I'm mostly responding to that foolishness.
