Should have stayed away once the small hands report was confirmed. You can’t be a legit NFL QB with tiny hands to grip the ball.

I personally wish Kenny all the best with his future endeavors. I also wish that the Steelers could do a lot better in developing QB talent as quite a bit went down leading to today. Kenny himself isn't blameless nor infallible in this discussion either; he needed to play better and, sans one game, sadly did not. However, a complete mismanagement of the reconstruction of the Offensive Line, Matt Canada and keeping him long term, poor drafts dating back to 2018 and inefficient roster building are but a small penance of what we currently have now; a 35 year old Russell Wilson the likes of Mike Tomlin and the Front Office hope to Jesus or whatever god or deity they so worship can turn back the clock to hopefully get them over the hump.

Given the circumstances, nabbing another QB should be the play though the team never did meet up with any of the top ones... like that would have mattered. Best thing to do is to complete the Offensive Line; something Omar Kahn is clearly hell bent on doing. For that matter, don't be surprised if the Steelers go 1-2 on OT and OC.

He’s just mad because his excuse to defend MT is gone and now he will have to find a new one.

He has a lot of problems playing quarterback but I don’t think we saw small hands being one of them

Unless Harrison is sitting there definitely not 1

    Probably not 2

But we do have two #3 picks

Yes this is a very deep draft for WR's. The Steelers could definitely find a quality receiver in round 3.

I don't like this draft for wideouts. Last year was much better. Yes there are 4 to 5 big wideouts at the top of the draft who are better than last year's class, they are all first rounders however, but after that this draft is not very deep with wideout talent.

MR will have a good career as a backup

KP could go either way, star Qb or bust and out of the league in a couple years

You have no idea what kind of person Kenny Pickett is or how things went down here. Why all the personal insults?

I wish Mason and Kenny much success. I don't understand the hate here by many people and the personal attacks.

Is this what people think makes a fan?

I agree about Kenny Pickett. The support system for him failed.

It's funny how almost everyone just attacks the player, yet don't hold the people that drafted him, were responsible for hiring the coaches that developed him, evaluated the quarterback play, and the people that ultimately made Pickett find out Russell Wilson was coming to the Steelers to start by watching Wilson's hype video on social media....accountable for sucking at their jobs.

The Steelers organization and coaching staff need to do better. Much better. Or the bad decisions will continue to happen.

    Both career back-ups.

Not nice to wish injuries on people I know but living where I live it would be enjoyable if Hurts misses this season.

I am not sure what the future holds for these two, I think Mason will get an opportunity with Titans
I am not sold on Levis. KP will have to try to learn from Jalen and Eagles staff and if he gets an oppurtunity
he better make the best of it.

We definitely reached on KP drafting on need but trust me I blame MT a ton in this whole scenario and most others.

They train right next door to PGH Panthers you would think the Steelers would know everything there was to know
    about KP.

I think that played into why they took him though they were comfortable and secure. KP had a great SR year playing against ACC trash Defenses and having Addison be 25 yards separated from defensive backs. Would have like to think our brass would have recognized this because the rest of Kenny’s college career was average at best.

    This sums it up perfectly.

The Steelers completely bungled the transition after Roethlisberger and the development of Pickett. I understand his frustration but he needed to handle it better, like Rudolph did. I don't think it speaks a whole lot about his character as a person because everyone is different, and even reacts differently. I'm sure that as time goes on, KP will reflect back and probably regret the way he handled the situation, especially if he washes out of the league.

I think it's best for all parties involved, Rudolph, Pickett, and the Steelers to move on and start fresh.

    Ideally, they all have success.

Hopefully, the Steelers have learned. And hopefully, they now have a solid plan in place.

As for the answer to the question, I think MR will have the more immediate success as Levis is still an unknown commodity.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Hurts gets hurt or his play continues to slide and Pickett gets a chance in the next few years and makes the most of it.

You mean he had a great extra year thanks to covid. Without this he would have been a backup from the start which is all he ever should have been.

Neither one of them is a Steeler now so I really don't care how their careers turn out. Right now I'm rooting for Russell Wilson and whoever else they sign to be a Steeler.

If injuries forced either into the starting lineup, then Pickett definitely has the better weapons around him

    IMO.....
I'd trade for Fields but not before signing a 3 year extension. This would avoid the Option Year. This could be done as he and Chicago dont have many options. Its a buyers market on Fields. You have him for 4 years

Then bring in Tannehill as QB3. Solid back up and knows Smith's offense

Then see how it goes with Wilson. If they may a nice playoff run and he plays well, see if he's amenable to a 2 year extension at a reasonable price. You have him for 1-3 years.

Depending on how things go, look to draft a QB that you like in the 2025-2027 drafts.

You have a clear succession path with options and three proven (with varying degrees of ability) NFL starters on the roster.

You’re right, I don’t know what kind of person Kenny is, but I know how he behaved when he lost his starting job to Mason and apparently some of that petulant behavior continued after we signed Wilson. He pouted himself out of Pittsburgh.

He pouted himself out of Pittsburgh. I’m not judging his character but his actions are fair game! And his actions have shown that he gets a little petty and pouty when things don’t go his way! Ben used to sort of be the same way, but he had way more reputational capital to draw on than Kenny!
