I don’t expect Bo to be there for our 2nd round pick, never mind our 3rd.

Bo Nix to the Steelers simply isn't happening. What's worse?! Neither is Jackson Powers Johnson. Why?!

Both Tomlin and Kahn have to be at that Prospects Pro Day for the prospect to be in consideration of a First Round Pick. So far, both Tomlin and Kahn have been spotted at the Steelers usual stomping grounds; Georgia and Clemson. I also suspect Monday is when the Steelers will head on over to Iowa to see Cooper DeJean though I have yet to see any major news regarding today for Wisconsin and Penn State.

Hope to hear about both College Pro Days soon to see if any major Front Office Personnel were in attendance.

I’m not sure you can base past history on anything Kahn is doing now

I'm thinking Nix isn't making past #12 at Denver.

I doubt he would last that long, he would most likely be drafted in the second round.

If this were the case, Broderick Jones wouldn't be a Steeler. That said though, Pittsburgh has historically brought their families and loved ones to places like Georgia and Clemson... so perhaps Kahn can differ from Colbert. However, given the needs on the roster at present, I am not going to be surprised if Amarius Mims is the favorite given how much attention the Steelers have been giving him since the Scouting Combine. If the team does have a backup plan in case they cannot get Amarius Mims, JC Latham from Alabama is likely the next target. Why?! The Steelers brass also sends... essentially everyone to Alabama as well.

For that matter, March 20th will provide even better clarity on whom the Steelers bring. Like I said, likely everyone but I am more so looking towards which positional coaches for that is very telling.

I don't know if it's true, but I have heard Bo being compared to Pickett.

The comparison is that both of them playing in college for several years. Nix is 24 years old and has been around so long that he has played and won against Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts in college.

I say we take Joe Milton, at 21. (Unless this is a tanking year with Russ.) I do like Bo Nix though in first round for some team to start a new rookie starter window, but not the Steelers.

How is this a tanking year? Russ worse season is statistically better then any of Pickett's seasons.

The Steelers don't tank.....and if they ever did it would be the last year I root for them. Tanking is for pussies.

If they were trying to tank they would not sign a player like patrick queen and trade away statistically the worse QB in NFL history.

I don't want to waste a pick on a project QB just because we're in need a franchise QB. That has never worked out for us. I'd rather us fill out the roster using those draft picks. if there's a QB early in the draft next year, trade up to get him. I think Russ will surprise some people and do just fine bridging the gap until we find a long term replacement.

Well, that's not exactly how cause and effect works.

While it's true that they haven't selected anyone in the first round who didn't previously have full representation since 2010, it's not an etched-in-stone rule of Steeler drafting either. Furthermore, Khan may have a different way of doing things, one that isn't necessarily fleshed out from a single draft. But even if he does, that doesn't mean he wouldn't have drafted Jones; that's false inference.

It makes sense to want as many reps at your future top pick's pro day as you can, but it isn't always feasible. Noting their past tendencies is fine, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Khan bring some outside-the-box thinking to the drafting process where needed as well.

That would be a possibility. As a Noles fan, I love his attitude and his grit, I’m not sure if JT is durable enough for the NFL if he has to see significant playing time.

They are trying to win football games

Tanking is not remotely an option

While it is not a full proof method to determine how they draft players, that methodology is the best current indicator we do have. It has been that way for over a decade. If anything, Kahn could have put a stop to it last season given the fact that while Darnell Wright was one of their draft choices, the team elected not to trade up to acquire him; nabbing Broderick Jones instead. As you said, acquiring the most information possible is paramount when the team has a draft target they have interest in; heavy or otherwise.

In short?! I am only using the information we have at present. While it is very fair to say Kahn is going to operate ly differently when it comes to aspects such as Free Agency and contractual negotiations (Minkahs contract extension was actually the beginning of Kahns imprint on the team), it is also very fair to assume that Kahn is going to continue following the same trends that Colbert used during his time to scout players.

Doesn't mean that Kahn isn't going to stand pat; Broderick Jones being his current and best example. What the current Pro Day visits tell me is that Kahn is operating in a similar fashion like Colbert did before him.
