    THIS is it.

I am betting Khan sees it this way as well. they need to rebuild this WR Corps, been stated for a couple years now. the other big question is, will big George mature.

    LOTS of questions here....

    If Johnson isn't happy then seek a trade. I wouldn't take anything less then a 2nd or a 3rd and a 5th.

He has issues with players on the team. We all know the other crap. He is in the last year of his contract. I don't believe they are looking to extend him. Some have said he might do a hold in. And so on and so on.

I feel though he better toe the line looking to get paid next season with someone else.

They need to draft a receiver in the 3rd or 4th.

I'm so over the drama every day with him, the QB BS ect.

Bring on Free Agency and the Draft.

True, but I was simply pointing out the fact that CDPs are an option to the poster who's been busy engaging caps lock lock while packaging opinion and misinformed thoughts as 'fact' in this thread.

If DJ gets traded who plays the X-WR spot?

Solid point. Unless he wants to be traded I don't think it will happen. To thin and really no replacement on the roster.

You draft a replacement for next season. I mentioned that a 3rd or 4th. I feel it will be the 3rd round to grab a receiver. And sign a FA.

If he wants to get that big contract he needs show he is a leader. And not a whiner. Contract year!

Let's get Troy Franklin to pair with George, at 20. (Don't tell me Steelers don't draft wideouts in first round.)
I'm on Franklin at 20 bandwagon, unless Brian Thomas drops.

I really want to be in the market to draft Brenden Rice out of USC and Jerry's kid. I just wonder if we would draft a WR as early as I think it would be needed to do that.

FA starts soon. The Steelers usually hold off through the initial rush of signings. I kinda hope they act a bit quicker this year and get us a Center right away. This takes some pressure off drafting one of the 2 that everyone wants right now. And would allow for a move to maybe get another elite dynamic WR. Legendary NFL bloodlines, we know how much Tomlin loves that trait.

    Marvin Harrison's kid
    Jerry Rice's kid
    Ed McCaffrey's other kid
any other legendary bloodlines in this draft?

I don't feel they will take a receiver early. They need to address the center position as well as who is going to man the right tackle spot. Can't have another year of Moore on the left side.

Nate Herbig can man the center position until a Zack Frazier type can get up to speed. If they draft Powers-Johnson I see him as a day one starter.

I would rather them bring in a right tackle in FA.

I understand your thinking about getting Pickett more weapons but I feel that Johnson will finish his year here and they will draft a replacement but not early. The disappointment has been Austin III. Hopefully Smith can get him on track and develop him into a solid weapon. Only time will tell.

So many needs. Hopefully the draft addresses this issue.

We know a ruling on a sack cost Watt the sack record. That is also a fact.

If no trades our second pick is 51, I don't think Frazier lasts that long.

Your probably right. They have two 4ths so maybe use one of them to? Or a pick next year.

changing my tune, here. IF Wilson is signed, and penciled in as the Starter, they will not deal DJ. DJ will not have an issue with RW :dancing:

I think every pro sports team has that one player that seems to be in trade talks every offseason. DJ is that player for the Steelers.

Trading DJ and not bringing in a competent replacement would be a huge mistake. Most WRs want the ball and will complain when open but the QB doesn't see it. Pickens was also pissed by that too.

Only thing I can think of is they rarely give out a second contract let alone three and this draft is deep at WR so maybe they’re figuring on going that route. They met with several at the combine. They would still need to bring in a FA then, don’t think you want to go into the season with Pickens and a rookie or two. They have Austin but don’t know how much you can count on him.

The talk often in different media is the Steelers draft good WR's. Granted they have missed, but even the guys who have went to other teams has shown something to get somewhere else, and as you stated rarely has it worked. Problem now is we have 2 decent (and possibly to 15 or higher) guys if the scheme, QB, are right. Mid-round Rookie WR's have made a splash in recent years, often ahead of the guys drafted higher, but to expect that is a gamble when you already have 2 guys in your system. You certainly have to build for your future, who knows if you can keep DJ or Pickens (maybe one..or none), whatever road they take will be interesting to see.

Yep, Kansas City should be the first team they call, it doesn't seem they want to pay Sneed and the Steelers won't extend Diontae.

If Diontae is going to be traded, it's likely to happen next week because he's due a 3 million roster bonus by March 16th.

If Jerry Jeudy only fetches a 5th + a 6th round pick, I wonder what DJ would bring back? DJs numbers seem a bit better, but Jeudy is 3 yrs younger. Does DJ get you anything better than a 4th rounder?
