start thinking Barret Jones if we go o-line high. imagine..

    gilbert, jones, pouncy, decastro, adams

jones could kick in to center or out to tackle. gilbert or beachum either one can play RT while jones mans the left. you only need to fill the backup guard spot. high level at maximum positions is EXACTLY our highest need on the offensive line.

Not even close to our highest need...pass rushing OLB, ILB, are all higher priorities id even put Safety and Wr in there only if wallace leaves.

Jones would be a late first round pick at best, and there's a good chance that he falls because of the injury that he suffered in the BCS title game. I certainly wouldn't have problems with picking him in the third, and possibly the second, depending on who is still available.

did not mean highest need overall. just the line. warmack adresses one spot and we have a lot of questions. i'm with you on OLB. i'm might say safety before ILB but those are definitely the most concerning three

if woodley and harrison BOTH go see shaw in florida and they BOTH stay on the field the whole season i agree. this may be our best opportunity get high level replacement

gilbert probably will be a starter, but i don't see that as a good thing....my support for gilbert is quickly diminishing... the sooner we can designate him as a back-up, the better.

i still think if we can get someone like jones from georgia we take it...been reading he might slip in the draft because of a back injury... or the kid from BYU ansah...

back injury? thats a new one to me. he hurt his foot this season but played all year on it. he was to have lis-frank (sp?) surgery on it.

we have 3 OLB'er besides woodley and without harrison. why would you think a draft pick would start over any of them? JH isn't gone just yet.

i do agree on gilbert not being starter worthy unless he really works this offseason. he gets manhandled out there. he's soft. he will probably start though.

i like the idea of jones , i just doubt in the 1st and he won't last much past that if he were to fall.

There is absolutely no way Jones makes it to the third round. Absolutely none. Injured or not, he has 50 career starts and played in 3 title games at 3 different positions. All-American RG on a championship team (Warmack was his back up that year.) Outland trophy winner at LT on another championship team (beating out DeCastro for that award) and a Rimington award winner on a (get this) third championship team. Him being at the top of the second round this year would be a long shot.

barret jones will never past the ravens at the end of the first take him make sense if we don't want to see him in purple too

i believe the comment about jones slipping was about jarvis jones and us taking him in the first

Harrison's injuries have not been due to lack of conditioning. He is probably one of the most conditioned athletes we have. He lives to train. His knee, back, and him breaking his eye socket, are just results of bad luck. Woodley has a nagging hamstring injury which can be attributed to bad conditioning. But I think our most pressing need is either an pass rushing OLB or ILB. We need pressure, and we can't rely on woodley to have a huge season after he put up amateur stats this season. Whether or not Harrison returns, we need a pass rushing linebacker. More pressure on the QB will result in more turnovers...

you're right about harrison. i actually think his injuries are more a result of age and intensity causing his body to start breaking down. i don't see things getting better for him or troy for that matter. until woodley proves us wrong about his health i see a bleak outlook on the edges.

The ravens will be looking to replace ray lewis at the top of their draft

Ellerbe and McClain played great together in the absence of Lewis. They compliment each other well and that's a solid tandem, I don't think they're looking MLB in the draft and also, you don't just replace Ray Lewis :/

    Just think of the possibilities:

Ideal: Adams, Jones, Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert

Most Likely: Gilbert, Jones, Pouncey, DeCastro, Adams

Hey it Can Happen?: Adams, Pouncey, Jones, DeCastro, Gilbert <--- here we got a heavy and strong right side and an athletic and quick left side.

Oh and in this scenario, Gilbert would be the "old man" at the ripe age of 25

Ellerbe and mcclain weren't that great.... quite a few teams ran extremely well against them, with a majority of those runs coming from the inside, not to mention that te's had their way with them...... while you don't exactly replace ray lewis, the talent in this draft is strong, and the chance to upgrade probably can't be passed.

I think this is Matt Birk's last rodeo too (the Ravens Center). He will be the most pressing person to replace if they want immediate continued success. The Ravens LB's are all young and play pretty well besides Ray and Suggs, It also doesn't hurt Ngata is taking up blockers for them too.
