I loved watching him play!! I was pretty excited when he was hired as our db coach. If we could just get a pass rush, I think we would see how far we have come with him coaching our dbs.

actually, i think we have seen how far the secondary has come... for the most part, these guys covered extremely well... the lack of a pass rush only highlighted that......the one thing i will agree with you on though is if we started generating any kind of consistant pass rush, then the numbers could be staggering

He sure seems like he has helped the secondary since he has been here. :applaud:

He's one of my all time favorites! Now that was a great secondary with him and Woodson back there, phew. I'm excited to see more of Cortez, see if he keeps producing those turnovers, we need a playmaker back there. And yes, a pass rush would be nice!

Yes it was a great secondary, but the best was when it was Mr. Mel Blount, Mr. Mike Wagner, and the rest of that group!

He is by far, our most important coaching asset that we have,
please Steelers FO find more of these people. Then we will
be on a level Coaching field. Some of the position coaches I would look at/replace

    1.strength and conditioning
    2. Special teams
    3. Find us an OL
    4. WR coach
    5 RB coach
    6. DL coach
We need people that will coach our guys up,
that will instill pride in their performance something that is
obvious lacking with these position coaches.

i'm not sure it's that ward. amos has always been an assistant. tomlin said he would help him. if he's not good enough to have the job himself, something is wrong here.

mongomery is young as heck. this is his first go round in the nfl. i don't think he knows how to fix things or teach things well enough at this level.

kirby as i've said before is still not over all his problems and i don't think his all has been in it as in the past. another reason i hesitate about him becoming OC.

john mitchell is our assistant HC. he's a long time d-line coach. maybe he's burnt out or just isn't up on what to do with what he has. maybe just the talent they cruised on is gone and these guys are just harder to get that out of.

i would like tunch or castillo or dawson for the o-line vacancy.

The Steelers would be wise to consider Lake as its next DC.

Mac, I respect your insights and opinions but don't you think
these area's are of concern? Have you liked the what you have saw from
these area's. Can we do better?

I think they can do a lot better.

I fully understand different coaching styles, but there's little to no coaching going on during games for the Steelers. (At least what gets shown on cameras) Contrast that with what the Patriots do on the sideline and how they seem to adapt during the game. Belichek (the head coach) is over there giving technique advise to position players during games! Meanwhile, we get the these are professionals from Tomlin and expect them to prepare and perform like professionals.

i sure do. we can do much better. thats what i'm saying. we have always had coaching turnover , but we have always managed to have good ones, that's why we lose them. we have some now that are not at that level. i even mention LB'ers at one point underachieving. i got blasted. we've not been really good at RB since hoak retired. most teams have two o-line coaches. some of those are head coaches. some are run game coaches. i don't have a problem with them being young , but proven and young is a much better way to go. good coaches make good players, great players. players can have all the talent in the world but they need to keep improving. our talent is stagnating at alot of positions.
