I mix garlic ginger and Kung Pao peppers with peanut oil cook and strain and use it for stir fry

And since I have to much garlic I chop it and mix with olive oil and freeze it then I can use it for a long time

I have a local spice company that makes fresh stuff very cheap

In general I don’t make anything that someone else can make better

This is the first time I’ve tried it but since it’s packed in oil the flavor should not change

I used some this week from July and so far so good

I have fresh still in cold storage downstairs that will start to dry out so I’m going to chop half of it up and try again

Maybe I can stretch it until July when the next batch shows up

I read you can freeze it in an ice cube tray then dump it into a plastic bag but I was afraid it would freezer burn still

I put mine in an old cottage cheese container and chisel out what I need with a fork

You know I do grease from meat that way....in a ice cube tray, and freeze it, then store in baggies in the freezer, and later when mixing food for the dogs....I will heat up some, and drop some of those frozen meat drippings into their food after I've heated them up. I label them for the kind of meat....like bacon, steak, chicken, and so on.

This is 3 months old and I’m using it today the tub was full to start

    Looks and smells great

After I get back from vacation I’m going to take the rest of what I have in my storage area and chop and pack it in olive oil

That should get me to the next crop in july

Nice! I should probably put them in containers. As I've said before, Santee's soil is uniquely suited to growing rocks! Lot of decomposed granite and clay.

Well now I feel inspired so let’s see how this years crop goes

When I was a grade school kid I grew up with a bunch of poor kids but we didn’t know it and there were local boys/girls clubs where kids could go.

I was on the swim team and I was really slow but I kept going. At events they only stuck me into races when there was no one else.

Last race one time was something ridiculous like 800 yard breast stroke so they entered me. I got first place. I was the only kid who didn’t quit or drown. When I got out of the pool the only person still in the sitting area was my mom. (tear in my eye)

I wish I still had that ribbon.

I don’t mind my dogs eating my tomatoes if they would eat a whole one. But no let’s take a taste out of several. Ditto ground hogs.

    Second answer to this

I froze whole garlic cloves this year and that worked out well I just put them skins and all in a mason jar.

They actually go through the press easier after they were frozen and peel easier.
