As I mentioned, Aurthur Smith is on my list of acquaintances. His Dad is a billionaire from FedEx and owned a stake in the then Redskins.

I would take Tannehill over the other 2 vets we have if the price was right. Pretty sure he made like $30M last year with TN. Would hate to see the steelers pay anywhere close to that number. Maybe something closer to $5M

Slim pickings out there. I certainly hope they dump Mitch. They need a vet. If that's not Mason, Tannehill makes a lot of sense. The talking heads pushing for Cousins and Wilson gotta stop. I wouldn't go near those two. Fields? For a 3rd maybe but that's not going to happen if they mean what they say about developing KP.

And then Atlanta will draft a QB in round one and he will be in a worse position than being here

At the very least Mason should wait until after the draft to sign anywhere

Do you have a link to the rumor? Neither of these links mention it.

Probably just speculation at this point because of their Oklahoma State connection. It could make sense though.

Why do we want Fields? If he was that good or potentially good, why would da Bears get rid of him? Plus he is a turnover machine. Thanks but no thanks

I was listening to sports talk around the Atlanta area. I had to drive through there and traffic was a mess. I too am hoping that it's probably speculation.

It’s not far fetched at all. He’s from just up the road in Charlotte and that could be a good situation for him. I’m still hoping he re-signs with the Steelers and is given a fair opportunity to win the QB1 job here. I have no doubt that he’ll have multiple other options and it wouldn’t surprise me if one of them is Atlanta.

If in a couple of years if he tries to bring Ridder up here after his rookie contract I will probably drown myself from alcohol poisoning.

Traffic a mess? In Atlanta?? Say it ain’t so. One of the reasons I left that city a long time ago. My wife is from there and she refuses to go back.

I hope they don't sign Tannehill, he's in his mid-thirties and can't stay healthy.

He only had 9 picks but had 10 fumbles. For a running Qb he has to learn to secure that ball better.

I thought Whipple retired after his stint with Nebraska.

You’re probably right. I looked him up but doesnt say if he is retired or not. Last known coaching stint was with Nebraska but I just checked their coaching staff and he’s not listed.

That was an old contract. Tannehill isn't getting much this time around, not after the 2023 he had.

Based on things that I've read about Canada and his leadership style, I get the impression that he was very authoritarian and probably worried more about following his plan and enforcing his will than on developing his players or creating a game plan that took their strengths and weaknesses into consideration. So would not surprise me at all if kenny's development and training was stunted because he was worried more about following 'the plan' than on anything else.

Then why would he have spoken up and advocated for keeping Canada last year as well. Now you might say he is supposed to say that, but he could have just been silent and say my job is to focus on improving as a QB for the Steelers or some other canned response when asked. If we take him at his word he wanted Canada back in 2023 which was mind boggling to me at that time. It's like we need a full army of new guys to get the Steelers moving again but the HC is fine. Just wish we would have completed a full house cleaning.

Because people make stupid decisions. Kenny is a new QB in the NFL. How does it go over if he starts complaining about his OC? Pretty much anyone is going to toe the line and sound like a team player. Sort of like the situation where someone stays in an abusive relationship despite every reason not too. It doesn't make sense, it just is. And remember, he was a young kid who went from making no money to making a lot of money with the stroke of a pen. He is not going to want to upset the apple cart.

Everyone has a shelf life. I can agree with a house cleaning. I used to have a boss that never hesitated to question why things were done the way we were doing them. He was a pain in the ass. But he was also right. You get into doing things in a certain way for a long time and doing anything different just seems wrong. Sometimes you need that person who asks the 'why' question like a 5 year old.

Exactly. We are so used to Roethlisberger, who was willing to be blunt about things because he was an established veteran on his way to the Hall of Fame. Pickett is a young guy who says the "right things" most of the time. Usually, that means he says the safe things. The only time I can remember him not doing that was when he said he didn't learn anything watching from the booth or the sideline. I don't understand putting any stock in him saying positive things about Canada in the past.
