Does anyone else get tired of the QB vs. QB faceoffs? They’re never on the field at the same time! Mahomes isn’t facing off against Jackson - he is facing the Ravens defense. Pickett or Rudolph will never face Jackson - they need to defeat the Raven’s defense, and our defense needs to be designed to defeat Jackson.

Too much hype about the QBs.

    It never again will

Most of these people who talk about sports for a living have to come up with a ton of filler material.

A local news feed sticks filler in from some guy named Noah Strackbein

I don’t think he has had one intelligent thought on his own yet

All he does is make a misleading headline and then quote someone else and I think he does it everyday

I’ve gotten to where as soon as I see his name I stop and go back

Of course they aren’t on the field at the same time but if you don’t think it matters that Zach Wilson has to keep up with Patrick Mahomes I don’t know what to tell you.

Yes. It's not something I've ever said out loud because I thought it was just me, but it bothers me too, and it's good to read someone else say the same thing.

Yeah, but it becomes disingenuous when they promote it like a head-to-head clash, but don't honor the individual performances, or factor in everything else that comes into play. If Brees plays a better game than Manning, but Manning still wins for whatever reason, then Manning won the battle in the eyes of all these talking heads hyping up the clash. No one is celebrating Brees' victory in their little head-to-head that was talked about so much. And God help him if his team hasn't beaten Manning's team, it'll be another "he can't get over the hump."

It happens with other positions too. Barry Sanders vs. Terrell Davis would be quite a clash for the media - turn on the game and watch Barry run for his life and earn every yard while Davis sails through holes big enough for a golf cart. In the end, it'll be about whose team won, not who played better.

It's just to generate interest, excitement, and clicks, and not to be taken seriously. Which is a shame, because it's so much more interesting when they hype up real matchups. OT vs. DE, WR vs. CB, QB vs. defense.

You don't have to go far to find click bait.

I'm trying to think of any talking head that mattered.

i'm trying to think of any post season award (other than Lombardi) that mattered

It's not a literal "this QB vs. this QB."

It's a way to recognize the names of the (normally) most well known player on the team to draw attention to the game for ratings/etc. I thought that was pretty obvious.

This reminds me of my wife yelling at the weatherman on tv when he gives the temperature at the airport and my wife yells she isn’t at the airport

You got that right. You would think that the only reason Travis Kelce is standing there with no one within 10 yards of him in any direction, is just because mahomes is the qb.

    Some people complain about anything

    Some people just complain

And they like to share their misery and feel vindicated when another miserable person agrees with them

    It’s society

Every NFL city is the back up QB.

It's particularly annoying when you don't really have a QB yourself and got bombed out in 1st round again.

Due to the conclusions of today's games... add Lamar Jackson to that list as well.

Hell.... Lamar Jackson has a record of 1-2 against Kenny Pickett!!

Man watching these playoffs, we don’t have a QB yet that can take us there. Pickett will need to take amazing strides next season to be that guy. More likely the best you can probably hope from him is Goff and look what he did, missed a wide open TD that would have been the difference. Not all on him of course, lot of missed opportunities that game for Detroit.

Lamar is actually 0-1 against Kenny Pickett. Last year Mitch Trubisky lost to Tyler Huntley and KP won against him. This year Pickett won against Jackson and Mason Rudolph won against Huntley.

I agree there are 10 other players on offense. One think I love about football is that it is the ultimate team sport.

Oh trust me... I am fully aware.

All the more reason I hope the team considers either Spencer Rattler or Joe Milton III. One or the other I would be fine with. Whatever push Kenny needs.... give it to him.

Should he crack? Next man up.
