I caught part of a phone interview with Dawson yesterday afternoon on a local radio sports show with Vencie Glenn and someone else. In the introduction, it was said that the Steelers had retired his number. Is this true? I thought there was still only one officially retired number?!:hmmm:

You're right. Dawson's number is "unofficially retired".

That's what I thought. You can't trust an ex-Charger to get anything right! :lolol:

What number was he? How many more sbs would #7 have to win to get his number retired?

Oh you dirty rotten *#@&^%, I thought this had something to do with him coaching the line

I love Dirt but how come he got an unofficial retire? Lots of iconic Steelers to compete against.

It was #63 and, I think, with what Ben has already accomplished his number gets "retired" as soon as HE retires.

It's a lot easier to retire a QB's number than an OL's. If we felt like it, we could retire Charlie and Lefty's too, with no harm done.

That's impossible though because neither of them will ever retire.

The Steelers don't retire numbers, they just do not
give certain numbers out. As far as Ben goes, he better win
2 more Superbowls or that #7 will be out faster than you
    can count to 1.
