Hey, A year has gone by and we have seen the draft picks play their 1st season.

Now that you can look back would you have done anything different with the first 3 picks? I am not going back any further as everyone can point out a 5th or 6th round guy that had a good rookie year.

What the hell, I will even go 1 more and give you the 3rd round pick as well. (The only one I had a ..." Well Maybe"... question on.

My post season is Grade is an A+ for contribution to the 2023 season.

I would not have wanted the Steelers to Pass on any of these guys to get someone else. I think getting Washington in the lineup is what really helped the run game out
    • Round 1, Pick 14 (From NE)
Broderick Jones, OT | Georgia --> Franchise LT that we have been waiting for. (We get Porter in the 2nd, so I am glad we didn't take Gonzalez in the 1st and then he went on IR)
    • Round 2, Pick 32 (From CHI)
Joey Porter Jr., CB | Penn State --> Finally the Shutdown, man on an island, CB we have been waiting for.
    • Round 2, Pick 49
Keeanu Benton, DT| Wisconsin --> NT for the decade team. Benton is going to be the next Defensive Captain on the D-Line when Cam retires.
    • Round 3, Pick 93 (From CAR via SF)
Darnell Washington, TE | Georgia --> Blocking TE that we desperately needed to go along with Muth and Connor. Maybe Jordan Battle, the only other guy I was looking at when the Steelers were on the clock, but he is no Minka.

When the Steelers were on the clock is there anyone you would rather have had them pick than who they picked?

Myself, I can't remember a better draft by hitting on all of the top 4 picks.

    Agreed.

Best draft since 2017 hands down.

No question they hit it out of the park with this one, and those guys will only get better with time

Getting a capable back up edge in the 4th wasn't a bad pick, either (even though, like Watt, I wondered if we were only picking him because of his brother. I was wrong then, too). 7th rounders need a year or two to develop.
