That back seven those guys are brutal to watch, the only keepers in the secondary should be Porter Jr and Minkah, if Rowe and Roberts return it should be as backups. They definitely need to draft a ILB who can cover, Peterson not worth his contract can't tackle and slow as molasses.

I agree. It’s a long list though. Not sure where to start?

We need some we need multiple defensive linemen, ILB’s, and DB’s.

Agreed on drafting an ILB. Unfortunately, this upcoming class is :puking 4::puking 4::puking 4::puking 4::puking 4:.

Jerimiah Trotter Jr. from Clemson or Edgerrin Cooper from Texas A&M. That is.. more or less of the options for speed on the defense.

That wasn't the plan injuries played a big part in it, they had guys off the street playing too many snaps.

The defense was missing three of our four starting LBs.

Minkah was coming back from injury and Kazee from suspension.

On top of all that, Porter left with an injury.

I do agree that it would be good to get more depth at ILB and address the DL.

I like Roberts if he is playing the role he was brought here to play. The problem is that due to injury he was in coverage way more than he was ever supposed to be.

Porter and Minkah are the only members of the secondary that are legit starters. Guys like Rowe, Kazee, Wallace, etc are just depth. Peterson needs to just retire.

The defence needs an injection of youth and pedigree at virtually every position.

JPJ and Minkah will hopefully be mainstays in the secondary for the foreseeable future but its a weak link system as we all know, you can get safeties in free agency at a reasonable cost. If they can hit on another starting CB in the draft that would be ideal

Cam may come back for another year but they need to think about a replacement this year or next year. Benton had a good rookie season overall, albeit he didn’t have his best game yesterday.

ILB position for the Steelers is hexed and drafting these guys early is a crapshoot

OLB with Watt, Highsmith and Herbig is the one group you’d be happy with for now

mmmmmm - sort of. Minkah is / was banged up most of the year, clearly not 100% yesterday. JP JR will be a Pro Bowler soon.

Peterson was a bad signing, looks bad on Khan / Tomlin - a DESPERATE move, due to poor drafting and bad FA mismanagement and CB development in general. Rowe was impressive coming in late. Need help at other CB positions, sure.

half our problem is coaching, scheme.

CLEAR NEED is ILB. same as last offseason, but back to back ACL and ACHILLES are hard to overcome!

Rowe is really athletic and fast, but he is older. Roberts made an amazing play covering in endzone last night, I was surprised. He is not known for that. Jack got caught flat footed covering a TE on a TD in the middle of the field.
I thought it was more that kind of stuff, tackling, being flat footed, not aggressive, just not willing or ready to play.

Maybe they will trade up for one

Holcomb and Roberts will be the starters next season. Resign Alexander. Yes they need to draft one but there are more pressing needs like OT, DL, Corner, Receiver.

IF these guys can come back 100%. always a crap shoot after those rehabs. but liked the trio when they were there.

FA + DRAFT + BETTER COACHES

Season after season the Steelers never seem to have enough ILBs. I would keep all 3 and still draft a ILB early. The Steelers haven't had a true playmaker at the position since Ryan Shazier got hurt.

It is quite spooky how certain positions in the NFL have had ravishing injuries with certain positions. I feel the gummy worm training camps might have something to do with it.

I meant he had to play as a starter because Holcomb and Alexander are injured .
