What would be your list of candidates for the next steelers OC?

Doesn't matter. They will promote from within.

Darrell Bevell of the Dolphins would be a good start.

Klint Kubiak of the 49ers is another.

Wild Card for me is Mike Lafleur of the Rams.

They'd be great candidates for HC, why would they leave something that they started to settle for anything less than HC

Kubiak is already interviewing for OC positions (with the Bears). I don’t think he’s going to get HC offers. His problem is Shanahan is essentially the OC, which makes Kubiak as assistant - in his case Passing Game Specialist. No reason the Steelers shouldn’t also interview him. I think he’d be a great option.

Likely, but until MT decides his future there really isn't a list. There is a lot of speculation, but really we won't know until the it's announced. He gets extended, or he steps down, only he really knows, perhaps it has all been media and there is no intention of stepping away, but until he clears it everything else is moot.

Steelers will hire the assistant trainer from Slippery Rock instead as an OC.

If Tomlin can call in a favor, I still think we have a shot at Eric Bieniemy for OC / Assistant Head Coach.

I have always thought that it must be almost impossible to get a good OC to come be your OC.....Reason being is that if you are a good OC already, you probably have a secure job. So the only things that are going to get you to move are the offer of a lot more money, the chance to join a SB capable team, or you are desperate to be in a new location geographically.

Normally teams will not allow coaches under contract to interview for lateral moves, except in cases like when the HC is terminated and they may not be retained on new staff. So OC under contract with another team is not happening. You either get an up and comer or a unemployed retread.

    Disagree.

They are good but not to the caliber of Ben Johnson or Todd Monken. They lack the experience in terms of managing personnel at a far greater level. Those aforementioned are position based in Offensive roles.

I think our head coach will be deep in consultation before the interview and selection process.

Worse comes to worse, they can also use it to help call plays.

It would be a joke to us if the Steelers kept the same OC we had at the end of the season.I mean, seriously

Same if they hire Leftwitch who has been terrible in his career as OC without Arians even with Brady!

    klint #1……. Mike #2

I posted a thread over a year ago wanting Slowik. He’s done a great job with the Texans young group.

Here we have more vets with “strong” personalities. Klint would probably be a better fit than even Slowik.

Just do a dive into Klint, the jobs he’s had and the Players he’s coached. Heck, who raised this guy from a baby??

If Tomlin stays please hire Klint as OC!!! If Tomlin leaves please hire Klint as HC!!!

    Yep!!! I said it First!!!!

    Disagree…..

Klint has been raised and developed to be a HC. What was Noll’s resume? Cowhers ? Tomlins?

Id argue Klint might be better Qualified ….
