If the weather in Buffalo is going to be as bad as predicted, it could almost take the passing game away. With that being said, could Kenny Pickett get some plays on Sunday? If we are forced to run the ball most of the game, why not put him in a few times just to give us another option, and it would throw Buffalo's defense a curve ball!

Small hands would fumble the ball.

He can take off here and there, but other than sneaks, they haven't run many designed runs for Pickett. I think that would be disruptive, which is the last thing you need in bad weather.

He could just trot out and hand it to Najee, it would at least make the defense think about it.

I am certain the Bills would be more than happy to see the Steelers turn to the dynamic running threat that is Kenny Pickett.

    Forget the QB all together.

Have both Najee and Jaylen on the field and then direct snap the ball to one of them. Send one Left and the other Right, who is the defense going to follow???

You want to have Mason Cole, who has struggled with shotgun snaps all season, do something even more challenging with his snaps on a cold day, possibly with snow on the ground and high winds. Think about that.

The backs would also be doing things they don't normally do in inclement weather. Keep in mind just doing his normal job, Warren had trouble holding on to the ball in poor weather last week. Again, think about it.

I figured it would help with the handoff/pitches, because there would not be any. :)

But, you may be right on the Mason Cole front, so you might need to bring in Christian Kuntz for the snaps. :)

When Odonnel left. Tomzack (sp) became the starter and slash 'did his thing" (according to Cowher), hell they even made the playoffs. Belichek said before the game, well at least we know who our QB is.

Point being, Kenny is no Kordell (in the slash mode), and putting KP in is not going to fool anyone.

the ball as Cole snaps it 30 yards back over the heads of both, wind aided of course.

No, but this makes about as much sense as asking Kenny, bad ankle and all, to go out on the Ice-Field and try to run the ball himself.

LOL... I am sure Mitch would volunteer to go out there and run the Wildcat. :)

Playing it safe in the playoffs has not worked out well in the last several years, hopefully the coaches have some sort of new wrinkles to add to the offense, if it is blizzard-like conditions like they are anticipating. Who knows, maybe Connor Hayward could be the X-factor!

I thought a few trick plays would be advantages for us but I can see the point being made that the weather dictates keeping that ball tucked in, close to the body. Generally speaking trick plays require the ball tossed or lobbed across the field. While I agree a few wrinkles are needed to win this game the weather conditions dictate otherwise.

Did not like the original slash and do not want a poor imitation in the playoffs /
