No thanks. Rather have an unknown, prefer a defensive coach.

Like Tomlin, he’s a defensive guy. I’d rather have an offensive minded head coach. I like Vrabel and I think it could work as long as he’s willing to bring in a strong offensive coordinator.

Vrabel would be a real positive change.

I marveled at what Vrabel was able to do with a mediocre QB over his first few years. I’ll admit I haven’t followed them closely over the past couple of seasons because they haven’t been relevant in the playoff stretch, but I look at how the front office tried to address QB with Malik Willis, and then drafting a very raw Levis and expecting instant success, and I can see where he was dealt a shaky hand these past couple of seasons by their front office.

As a Steeler fan living in New England, I’m going to be really unhappy to see him get hired in Foxboro, which I think is a solid probability.

I hadn't thought of that angle. He is a good fit in New England.
Willis, in my opinion, was his undoing in Tennessee. I don't understand the logic for going after him, those small school QBs are high risk low reward.
If they had a plan, something like GB has done with Love... maybe.

I wouldn't mind seeing Vrabel here, he's also a good fit.
But like with Tomlin, our GM needs to be clear that a good OC is required. Not a fill in.
I think Vrabel seems more malleable to that than Tomlin.

I also think Tomlin has 5 years in him - here.
But as mentioned, the GM needs to have a little more say on coaching hires. I think they've been like 'whatever you want Mike.'
I know they are looking to improve the analytics, as are most teams.

Offensive coach is my preference too but Vrabel I think is one of those coaches you have to grab if you can. Hire a strong OC like you said.

In the last 10 years, the Titans have fired Steelers Munchak, Wisenhunt, Mularkey and Vrabel.

    Keep trying until it works.
Reminds me of that tv star, i can't remember his name, that married and divorced three women, all named Alexa.

If he hires a good OC, would be good.

Shaun O'Hara on the NFL Network this morning said that Patrick Mahomes told him that Vrabel coached teams gave him more trouble than anyone else. Vrabel just the year before last had the Titans as the #1 seed with Ryan Tannehill as QB and was coach of the year. But Bud Adams daughter Amy is in control now and she wants a complete rebuild from top to bottom.

The Steelers should have kept Mike Vrabel instead of letting him go as a free agent.

Belichick was a lousy coach in Cleveland before taking the Jets job ( for a day , then resigning to take the Patriots job ) , so those of you that think just because a coach failed somwhere else means that they will fail everywhere is narrow minded and foolish. Vrabel is a good coach and has a high football IQ, something I look for in a coach. If Vrabel is available and Mike walks, I would defintiely interview Vrabel for the job. I think he knows that he isnt an offensive guy and will be bring in the best man he can find for that position. ( At least thats how I would approach it ) At some point you will have to rely on your staff to get the job done, if they are micro managed, nothing actually gets done.

Vrabel is like the modern day Cowher. Run the ball, play tough defense.

What would be funny, is if Vrabel goes to the Pats and take his QB and RB with him.

Both Tannehill and Henry are free agents in 2024.

Also, rumors that Josh McDaniels is planning a return trip to New England to be the OC.

I like Vrabel, but might as well keep Tomlin since Vrabel is a defensive coach. Unless Vrabel can bring in an awesome OC... it will be more of the same.

I'd rather Steelers hire a young, up and coming OC for HC.

Maybe wrong, but it was Johnny Carson who did not have to change the initialed bed sheets for his first 3 marriages, Joan, Joanna, and Joanne...then he married Alexa ( a Pittsburgh native).

actually if the price was right having those 2 and drafting a QB to sit a year would not be a a bad option. Henry is still good, use him like the steelers did the last few years and he could go another 4 years.

No to Vrabel as our coach. I’ll never forgive him for the grief he gave us as a member of the Patriots

Have the head coach be the Admiral not the captain of every ship, bring in a strong OC and DC and he manages the ships captains, keeps the locker room disciplined and re-establishes the team first Steeler way which he understands from playing 4 years here and has said the older guys took him under his wing and taught him that way!!

Which no longer will win you anything in the NFL, which is why I vote no. I want an offensive minded head coach regardless of who the OC is.
