Every OC gonna call plays that are questionable. As with BA in the past, most of the issues were due to poor execution. The offenses poor play had a negative trickle down effect on the entire team.

In the spirit of the original post...
Maybe I was wrong to judge him so harshly...
Now that his (Or Pagano`s ) team, has lost to the Cravens, I am feeling especially bitter...
I still maintain that I did not want that "Clown`s reject", and, that he wasted a lot of opportunities/talent, here(Heath, In particular)...
But when My hero finally got used enough, it resulted in an ACL tear against Cincy...
Anyhow, here is an article pointing out Arian`s strengths...
And I hate to say it, but, it`s a good one...
    http://www.post-gazette.com/stories...-call-got-arians-juices-flowing-again-669201/
Still not sorry we let him go, but the rest of the league sees it a little differently, and even when we did "let him go"...
It wasn`t with the usual class that the Rooney`s run their team with.
That kinda bugs me more than anything.
They are usually pretty straightforward, with their intentions.
Even tho I don`t like Bruce, very much...
I feel he got kinda "blindsided" with the news that he decided to "retire"...
That`s just wrong, and not the "Rooney Way" up until then...
    Anyhow...
I am man enuff to admit when I am wrong, and I apparentley was wrong, based on what he did with those kids in Indy.
Not sure what his "undisclosed illness" was, that made him miss their wildcard game, after he helped get them there..
I still don`t want him here, but I gotta admit, he did a good job there.
Hopefully all our players rally around their coaches next season(And themselves), no matter who is here, and who is gone!:herewego!:

Interesting what Bruce says about Ben...says it all about our QB...
"Peyton I always called the piranha because you couldn't feed him enough information," said Arians, who was Manning's first quarterback coach with the Colts in 1998. "Ben was just the opposite. The more information, he said, 'Here's our book, play football.' He was the ultimate gunslinger and swashbuckler."

Still think it was right to let Arians go. He wasn't a bad coach, and was good at developing QBs, but the play calling was predictable. Steelers need an OC that will push them over the top. Haley may or may not be that person, but one injury-filled season is not enough to decide.

And yesterday's Colts game kind of showed why things had to change: Arian's team got 400+ yards of offense, but only 9 points scored.

Probably too late now. It's becoming more and more evident that Ben is not a "student of the game." How much he studies film is debatable. Indeed, as a millionaire player, he has to take responsibility. At the same time, the fact that the head coach (and OC) let him get away with it, speaks volumes. There is absolutely NO DISCIPLINE on this football team anymore. And by discipline, I don't mean "obeying orders." I mean a "disciplined" approach to the game.

Whoa, wait a minute. Not saying that you are one of them, but MANY around here lament the fact the the Steelers ruined Kordell by trying to change him and not let him do his thing.

So now when Arians lets Ben be Ben all of the sudden that's wrong too??

    tough crowd here.

Yes and the Colts weren't playing for BA this season neither, they were playing for their sick HC....just saying too :)

Bruce designed some good plays, and he had some good games, but he was terrible - horrible - at situational playcalling. We didn't imagine that. He often didn't seem to have much of a gameplan or adjust on the fly. And his playcalling at times was truly brutal. He cost us games with bad play calls, which isn't easy to do. I'd rather our players lose us the game than a coach. Our offense struggled this year, but it was the players struggling. Dropped passes, ridiculous fumbles, injuries. There's also bad run blocking, which the OC does have a certain amount of control over, but BA didn't produce better blocking, he just had a better running back. Haley was a step up, I have no doubt. If he had sent Mike Wallace deep more than 8 times in the whole season, I'd have no complaints.

All of that said, I wish Bruce well, and we shouldn't be so surprised he had success with the Colts. I mean, he did have some success here. I always said the success they talked about on sports shows was overblown because passing yards don't mean squat if you can't score or call the right plays, and Super Bowls are a team thing, plus Ben gets a lot of that on his own. But he's still good at getting those yards. Luck is already a hell of a player with a great arm, and super smart. BA is a pretty good fit there. I haven't watched any of their games from start to finish so I don't know if he's still doing the same old crap there that he did here (although I did see him run Mewelde Moore up the middle on 4th and 1! That was pretty classic. He was stuffed, of course).

That's because he realized you can't shove a square peg in to a round hole and make it work the way it's supposed to. Ben's gonna play his kind of game no matter who the OC is. It's who he is and what he does.

You build your offense around its strengths, especially at quarterback. They did ruin Kordell. I don't blame BA one bit for not trying to change Ben, I just blame him for making terrible calls and not being a good enough in-game OC.

If you wanna believe BA had nothing to do with the Colts season your entitled to your opinion but those players were buying whatever Bruce was selling and raw emotion over their HC didn't win all those games.

kordell was time lost , i say if you have a good qb you have to leave him doing what does best and where there is hall there start your job , ok ben you play like this let's implement this to become even better ..it's so out of question improving where you are not good ?

Those kids love Bruce, even Luck said that if anyone asks about BA he's going to bad mouth him. He was joking of course but you get the point, he doesn't want him to leave. Why is it so hard to believe that BA had a hand in the Colts doing well this year? Do people forget that we had 12 win seasons under BA back to back?

I know exactly what you mean but of course you'll have many on here say that those 12 win seasons were in spite of BA not because of him ;)

Sure he had a hand in it. So did everyone on that team. My point is that team had a lot of emotion riding on the fact that there beloved HC was extremely ill and they badly wanted to win for him. Sort of like how we wanted to get the bus his SB ring before he rode off into the sunset. Just making the point was all.
