Idle Time Activity waiting for 2023 Season Results

Something to do regardless of outcome for this season. For those with NFL+ (with archived games going back to 2009 season) or with a complete personal DVR/DVD archive - I thought it would be interesting to go back and watch Ben's record setting four 500yd games. The 1st 3 are great games with wins, the 4th is a dud losing to Browns 48-37 in Wild Card game 1-10-21. This is only one of BB's 500 yd games with any INTs and he threw 4 vs 4 TDs. Ben had 4, Brees had 2 and several others had 1.

#1) 12/20/09 (Week 15) vs Green Bay - Won 37-36 (503 yds - 3 TD/0 INTs)) - a wild one as time ran out with TD pass to Mike Wallace.

#2) 10/26/14 (Week 8) vs Indy - Won 51-39 (522 yds - 6 TDs/0 INTs) - Andrew Luck threw for 400 yds - possibly the highest combined passing yds in an NFL game ever.

#3) 12/10/17 (Week 14) vs Ravens - Won 39-38 with a FG with 40 seconds left. (506 yds, 2 TDs/0 INTs) Another wild one, AB had 213 yds receiving.

#4) 1/10/21 (Wild Card) vs Browns - Lost 48-37 (501 yds, 4 TDs/4 INTs). In spite of passing yards and further setting his record of 500 yds passing (next closest is 2 by

 

Wasn't #2 his back to back 6 td game

 

I think so - I thought he had 2 500yd games in 1 season but you remember better. I'll check it out.

Update - yes BB had 6 TDs next week vs Ravens and won 43-23. Good one JP!

The indy game was on vacation in Savanah, GA on a baby moon and I remember specifically watching the game in a bar with my pregnant wife.

 

They got the ball back with almost 3 minutes to go in the Indy game and only 32 passing yards for the record. Bell ran 5 times and Ben ran once. Was kind of bummed they didn't let him shoot for the record.
