Rest now. You will be remembered fondly. The loss of one lessen us all. Steeler Nation remains, just one empty seat and a towel that will wave in your honor. Goodbye VA.

Very sad news. I don't know how the others feel but maybe you can sticky a thread or something to honor him on the board. He was a valued member of the community.

    RIP VA Steel

My condolences to his family. R.I.P. John. I too lost a loved one this holiday season, an aunt that I considered my second mother. They've gone ahead of us but one day we'll all catch up. Make the most of your time on this earth Steelers brethren, enjoy your families, hug your kids every day, and pass on the Steelers tradition.

I never knew he had health issues. He was a great member here and at the old board. This is very sad news. He will be missed here, and we only knew him through text.

My deepest sympathies to his family.

TOTALLY DUDE! We should name the pickem segment in his honor and keep it that way perpetually.

Oh man that's terrible. Was he an older guy?

That's the one thing about sites like this, when a member passes most of the time nobody ever knows. At least we know in this case so we can say goodbye.

    Rip.

Sad for sure - especially tough during Christmas. Prayers sent for your family and friends. May God comfort them during this difficult time.
