I would like to see Watt, Highsmith and Herwig on the field at the same time. That means one of them playing ILB. Even though they would be out of position it would be better than playing our 6th string ILB that was on his couch last week. Others have done this in the past. Clay Mathew’s did it with the Packers because they had a lot of injuries. Patrick Peterson is playing safety. They should have at least tried it.

This has been discussed earlier this season, they should've tried Herbig at ILB once all the injuries hit at the position.

I believe they just gave Highsmith pretty good money in order to play edge. TJ is NEVER going to be an inside linebacker. So that leaves Hebig? Not sure about that. He's looking pretty good out there on the edge

That's one. They need another one. Their other options aren't good.

Watt and Highsmith have done it for a few plays here and there in the past, but I wouldn't do it on a regular basis. They have had some formations with Herbig in there with Watt and Highsmith, but it's rare.

That would help tremendously, especially against the Ravens.

He didn’t really play badly last season, just wasn’t making the splash plays people were accustomed to seeing him make.

I am saying to get us through this season. Clay Mathew’s did it. All you said was on the roster they are labeled OLB so it’s not possible way to think outside the box. Let’s say next game everyone we dress on the 53 man roster at ILB gets hurt. Are you saying we should play with 9 guys

Stop it. No one said they should play 9 guys. You proposed it as a solution for the rest of the year. The skills are different

It's too late to move Herbig now, they should've tried it when they lost Holcomb and Alexander, he would probably be more effective than Walker at ILB.

This is great news! Roberts and Jack is a much better tandem than Jack and Walker.

walker has not played bad. if he had a full training camp i'll bet he would be a pretty good sub for us. he had a 10 tackle game and an 8 tackle game since he's been thrown at the wolves with little time to learn the defense. jack knew the defense. both play better with roberts.

What we have is what we have. Injuries happen. Good that Roberts is going to play.

Next season Holcomb, Roberts and resigning Alexander and adding a late draft pick.

I'm glad they didn't experiment with switching Herbig, He comes in and is a burst on the edge.

Do you think if he got more snaps he could even do more?

Gotta bring back Holcolmb, Roberts and Alexander in '24. ILB was the best it's been since Shazier/Vince era... before they got hurt.

Herbig will probably wind up getting about 1/3 of the snaps between him Highsmith and Watt

    Especially with Watt getting older

Moving any of them permanently to ILB would be foolish

Will Holcomb or Kwon even be the same coming back from those injuries? I really don't think so.

We need a FA or Draft Pick.
