Over the course of the last 6 seasons: Andy Reid, Nick Sirriani, Kyle Shanahan, Kevin Stefansky... this bar is absurdly low bro... Jaguars HC, Bengals HC, and others had more success because they have at least 1 playoff win to Tomlin's zero. Hell, by this standard alone Tomlin is the worst coach in thr AFCN. You're arguments do more to harm Tomlin's case than build it.

Yup I'm a spoiled brat... I stuck with the Pirates for 20 losing seasons and a Pirates team currently on a 8 year playoff drought... you dunno anything about us. You hopped a bandwagon and now want to throw some moral compass weight... ehhh no... you're no yinzer, you're a pretender that's never set foot in the Mon Valley.

Mike Tomlin has been the head coach for 256 games.
The steelers have been in contention for a playoff spot in 255 of those games.

I'm sure when you're super old and telling your grandkids about how great the Steeler team was that you love, they will only want to know about the SB wins you witnessed live.

I bet telling your grandkids how awesome it was to always be in contention of a playoff spot pales in comparison to telling them about the Immaculate Reception, or Harrison's 100 yard pick-6, or any play from any of the SB winning seasons.

I bet your grandkids friends will be talking about SB stories they hear from their grandparents, and will laugh when your grandkids say how awesome it was for a team to be in playoff contention.

We know the odds. And we know we've been in the rare good side of it.

Pretty sure everyone will be saying 15 years straight Tomlin didn't have a losing season. he got a ring, which only 35 out of 524 coaches have done. He coached in the hardest division. He won with Pickett who got out scored in yards most of his games. Etc etc.

Funny y'all start at 6. Y'all refuse at decade, refuse his entire career. Y'all move the goal post to much.

You don't know me kid. You don't even know who I used to work for and know as personal friend. You don't even know where I went to school.

So many Steeler fans never lived in Pittsburgh, yet are fans. But I don't care.

And who cares about the butt pirates. Did they play the nfl?

I’m just tired of how consistently Tomlin’s teams fail to handle being in good situations:

2015: many will point to having a playoff win, but forget that we were in a win and in situation the last week of the season and crapped the bed vs. a Ryan Maillet led Ravens team that was playing for nothing. Only another team crapping the bed saved us.
2017: we earn the #2 seed and a bye, but the entire team is a no-show for the first half vs. the Jags
2018: we start 7-2-1 and are in the drivers seat, then go 0-3 vs. the AFC West and miss the playoffs
2019: after overcoming the huge adversity of Ben’s injury, the team sits at 8-5…. And then finishes 8-8. But hey, at least it wasn’t a losing season right?
2020: the team again pulls a no-show across the board in a home playoff game. There’s no excuse.
2023: the team is somehow 7-4 and in a position to punch its ticket vs. two 2-10 teams. Oops.

There are a subset of fans who will make excuses for each of these situations and paint Tomlin as a victim of other peoples’ failures, but he’s the common denominator. I like how the team responds to adversity under Tomlin, but I have no idea how to fix the consistent lack of response to prosperity under him. The respond to adversity/fail in response to prosperity situation is just maddening. That’s a recipe for being average all the time.

This is something I cannot argue with. And I even agree with. If it's two more season of no post season wins, then we have to move on because of the odds of post season success are against us. And we could get better odds with changing 3 head coaches in the course of 8 years.

    Hope that makes sense.

Well he does have a ring. Something only 35 HC out of 524 HC have done.

You can see my response I made to @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis but give it two more seasons of this continuing, and the odds of post season are against us. Therefore you have to make a change.

Right now he is 2 out of 6 with reaching a post season. It's not like he's been a total failure in those 6 years.

And again I argue with this is the hardest division in the last decade.

A plethora of people on this board follows the Pittsburgh Pirates. Thx for proving how little you know about Pittsburgh. Just be sure when you keep setting the bar so low that you don't trip and fall over the side of the earth.

They had also the control of their fate for the playoffs(or already clinch a playoffs spot) only 8 of those 17 years for the final week of the season.....so one of those years they were eliminated but the other 8 they had need help from other team to make the playoffs in the finals week....

Buddy I lived in Pittsburgh. I just don't care for MLB. Way to many games to watch.

And news flash, you don't have to be a fan of every team in the city you're closest to. Heck you don't even have to be in the same country to be a fan.

Furthermore your stance is dumb that people can't be fans for x reasons..... truth is, is there are more supportive new 2023 Pittsburgh fans than how many years you been a fan. They've probably gone to more games than you as well. Probably watched all the games while you turn your TV off in a crying fashion. Probably purchased more at Christmas for their family of Steelers memorabilia. What you do? Probably just complained a internet board, yet want to throw around how you been here longer.

The Steelers have often had a winning record against their division...I think the last time they had a losing record against their division was in 2009, so that's not the reason why they struggle to make the playoffs

Of course I understand that the Steelers would have less trouble making the playoffs in a weak division like the NFC south right now, but that's life

Being in a harder division and still make the playoffs is something. While other division you don't even need a winning season. Or barely have a winning record.

Get 60 of those 69 other coaches from the last decade in here, and they wouldn't even be making a post season but a couple times. And some not at all.

Stop it. You're a Falcons fan and hopped the wagon. I never once said anything about people not living in Pittsburgh aren't true fans. My attack was on you alone simply because you called yinzers spoiled ignoring the failures of the other teams in the city that we root for. I kinda sorta attended the game Sunday.
