that he had Mason graded as a first rounder?

These past 2 games have been to say the least refreshing. And this sits at the feet of Rudolph. He has played quite well, poised, not scared, stands in there. Goes through progressions. Has the command. And others have followed seeing what this offense can be. Mason Friggen Rudolph!

If he plays like the 2 previous and even if we lose you have to wonder if he is the answer.

Issue is he and especially his agent are going to command a nice contract. He is only making a mill this season. He will have to get paid. And he will have suitors. That will bid.

Realistically, Mason is this year’s Nick Foles. The right man for the situation. I hope he can take us far and I hope he gets paid. But to think that he is the franchise QB that teams are looking for is a bit optimistic.

Maybe optimistic, but why.? Maddox was playing well before he got hurt and Ben came in
.and early in TM career he stunk it up

I ve looked at some of the BU Qb;s contracts, some are pretty low, minshew is making 2.7 million. perhaps the cost make go up for some, this year certainly hightlighted the importance of that position, but agree with you MR is not likely to get Geno Smith type deal after his 'prove it' year. I think he will be affordable, and probably can make his choice among a number of teams.

He was right. Im certainly glad we did not draft Rosen or Darnold that year and Mason is and was certainly better than those. Mayfield went #1 overall. Allen top 10-15, he struggled early but showed athletic ability and same with Lamar. All those QBs needed time, and Mason was right up there, but he was not given that time and starting opportunity. Those were the true 4 first round QBs that year and Mason was one of them. All those QBs had particular red flags coming out, something you could find you did not like, but they were at the top of the draft class.

I’ll take it if he leads us to some postseason success

I don’t know what the future looks like for Mason but just look at this from yesterday. No TD’s but only two passes behind the line of scrimmage. They want to build the offence around the run but are still trying to push the hall down the field in a way they haven’t for years, including when Ben was the QB

What a pity that this change came so late in the season, the Steelers haven’t had a credible downfield passing game in so long that this just feels strange, in a good way.

it's nice to see actual screens throwing the ball forward and set up with lineman and tight end for blockers....as opposed to the years of throwing the ball sideways and backwards to flat footed receivers and other receivers trying to block with the defense waiting on the play.
