We're all aware it's a good division. It doesn't excuse only winning 3 playoff games in 13 seasons.

and you point is? If you are content running your production at just above 50%, and every couple of years getting a nod for post season (which 45 % of teams make) because someone else wins or loses, but your team constantly fails in post season, then I guess you are content.

Unlike owners who panic and fire a HC after one year, or even 4...our organization has been pretty patient, but just above 50% is not a mark of great. I am not even talking last 10 years, hell we had some moments, but overall this team has struggled with the same on field issues and they have not been fixed. Not talking one game, talking 4 to 5 years. You either look at how this team performed, both in the wins and losses despite the winning record see the same yearly issues, or you are satisfied with the same results.

Art will, or has made the decision, he is not like some owners, hardly see him, so I guess we will see if slightly above 50% is worth the of say 50 to 75 million to extend him.

adding to the rants, lol. The talk about winning seasons, it is an accomplishment, but looking at the names on that list. Earlier today on another site a guy was saying MT the 'Goat" because he was ahead of Madden and Laundry, different era of course, but during that span both Madden and Laundry had not only terrific runs, yea not as many SB wins, but damn sure were in the mix, and many years in a championship game for their conference...but 9-8 is GOAT to some people, lmao

Again, Tomlin had an HOF QB basically his entire career. How many other coaches have had that luxury? Yet he still underachievered with the loaded teams he's had.

You mentioned the browns and eluded to how bad they are but then turn around and talk about how hard Tomlin has had it. He's been in a division with the lowly Browns and Bengals of the past. Those have always been laughing stock organizations until recently.

Big Ben carried tomlin's ass for much of his tenure here. He's bailed him out of bad gametime decisions, bad coaching, and bad personnel decisions.

Since Father time started to catch up to Ben and since he's retired and since Tomlin has truly put his mark on this team it has not been good. He's been very close to losing seasons every year since then even with a top paid defense.

You're splitting hairs if you think constantly hovering right around 50% and what is technically a losing season makes any difference. Neither one has been good enough for playoff success.

If you're going to compare all of the years where he's had a Hall of Fame QB and his prime you better put that record directly up against Bill belichick who constantly kicked his ass. What's his record against the other HOF QB that was around during the Ben era?

Don't throw out meaningless stats without some real context.

Ironic thing is....with a win vs Ravens on Saturday, the Steelers will be 5-1 in the good AFC NORTH.

So why y'all wanting Bill belicheck? Dudes way worse without Tom Brady.

You must have missed the screen shot of the last decade of our division compared to everyone else. So yes, even with the browns not having a back to back winning season, we're still the hardest division.

It's not just slightly hovering over .500. It's .636. So did you miss those rankings in the last decade only 3 coaches have done better (yet Tomlin has done it 3 times longer than them). As well Tomlin ranks in the top 15 of all time..... and he's doing it on the hardest division.

What's Bill's division like? Oh yeah a joke.
How's Bill doing without Tom? Oh yeah he can't get a winning season.
    Yet you want Bill.

The Ravens finished last in the division two years ago. The Steelers? 1989
The Ravens have 1 playoff win since 2014. The Steelers? 3
We beat the Ravens week 5. The last 4 years the Steelers are 6-1 against the Ravens. A one year run is not "tough".

There is a possibility that every team in the AFC North has a winning record, and no teams from the AFC South do.

Recently, there has been a shift by numerous members of this board to entertaining the thought of moving on from Tomlin. There have been a solid number of logical reasons as to why it may be time. Thinking that just any coach can step in and immediately take the Steelers to the promise land is not one of them.
