How quickly we forget that the offense looked better before Kenny went down, they just didn't have the scoring touch yet. Mitch set the team back because he really played poorly with bad technique, bad reads and pocket presence.

Mason had way better mechanics last week than any other time we've seen him on the field. He made the correct reads and took chances at the right time with good awareness. It's the same offense Mitch had, but Mason made the better throws and reads. Can he keep this level of play up? I think part of it is him playing really loose and not trying too hard.

I would like to keep Mike Sullivan as Offensive Coordinator and Put Eddie Faulkner back as Running Backs coach and bring in a New QB coach.

He isn't under contract for next year. If he faces their starters and tears it up, that would be something. If it is backups, then that is three games against bad defenses. Hell, Pickett looked very good against the Bengals, too, and that was with the officials robbing him of a touchdown pass.

Maybe he is Geno Smith. Maybe he is Matt Flynn. I just don't see them handing the guy the number one job for next season based on three games after nearly six years of thinking he can't do it. He has at least earned the right to compete for the job next season if he wants to stay, but that is far from a sure thing. Some other team could be stupid enough to give him a huge contract. I don't mean that it's impossible that what we saw these past two games is real, but counting on it from such a small sample size against weak competition doesn't make sense.

Why? If you are going to go with what we've seen the last few weeks, why does Sullivan move ahead of Faulkner?

It helps that he faced a Seahawks team that can't stop the run and a Bengals defense that can't stop anything. The Patriots have a dominant run defense and the Colts just abused the Steelers' offensive line. Don't get me wrong. Trubisky was a huge part of the problem, but the quality of competition is a factor, too.

I hope not. They faced two competent defenses since Canada was fired and had few answers for either of them. Unfortunately, this is the Steelers and they do love to hire from within, so I could see these two big outbursts as enough to make the current assignments permanent.

You bring someone in who's new with the team it might take a while to get used to a new offensive playcaller? Where as Mike Sullivan is already a established play caller and already knows the teams strengths and weaknesses...

Mike Sullivan was the quarterback coach as Pickett regressed. That's not good, but that wasn't the point of my question. Why would you demote Faulkner and elevate Sullivan?

Trubisky was a former Pro Bowler and had a decent run with some mediocre Bears teams.. now, he looks like he doesn't belong in the NFL. Kenny has regressed also. I'd clean house on the offensive side of the ball.
