Giving him the game off is a reward when he admitted to low effort for self preservation.
If the Steelers want to get his attention they gotta f@ck with his money.

If that's the case then great.
Steelers history with disgruntled players says otherwise.

These children need to comply or they need to be moved down the road when there is still value in them.
    Benching penalizes the whole team.

I’m not looking a permanent benching but just sort of a time out like you do with snotty kids

Just because a kid throws a tantrum does not immediately mean you put them up for adoption

First you give them time out then a whack on the butt then you put you up for adoption

Note to self: how come I don’t have any kids

They'll put you up for adoption.

100% he's going to act that way again, he's done it several times and that was his reputation in college! Used to be a time where the Steelers didn't tolerate that **** all the way back to Ernie Holmes. But now, well maybe I look that other way. Its like half the time you see the criminal on TV and the mom saying "But he's a good boy". No he's not he's a criminal. Pickens is a bad teammate period, and having some great games doesn't change it, we all saw what he is and he can't be counted on to do the dirty work play in and play out. So f that guy!!

My wife got out the wooden spoon to threaten our 5 year old grandson who was acting up. Only to be told by our daughter that it is a criminal offense in the state of Pennsylvania to do that and you could get jail time. Jeez if my dad was alive today he would probably get the firing squad for beating our asses with a belt or switch.

You are right about one thing, it's all about "I" with that guy. I hate selfish people so it annoys the **** out of me that our team used to not deal with players like this they would get rid of them. I still hope they do because he represents everything that isn't about being a team player. Just be sure to send him to a **** team, no nice landing like the chiefs, Bears would be a great place or the Jets!!

I used to joke with my brothers, if you took todays kids back to Normandy in 44 they would be smarter and would be like "Wait a minute those guys have machine guns in pillboxes, maybe we should sneak around the back." No way Tom Hanks rattles off 5 names today and 5 guys jump up to be immediately mowed down. "Let's figure out a better way man!!" Dudes back then had balls of steel but also were naive because they didn't know better. The generals are always one war behind.

Right now You see if You can fix Him....He's basically free money right now, but You still draft a Wr, and then when His contract comes up....if He hasn't learned....then You dump him.

Make him do some dirty work, if we are out of it the last game of the season, start him and give him no targets but have him block, see if he runs routes hard on every down, etc. I know its all for not because he is who we see, no chance the attitude changes its him and we are fooling ourselves into thinking he will mature. I can't think of a single example where that has happened ever!! It usually happens like Bell, years later when they know they f'd up and then its usually soul searching about LOST MONEY!!

I never give up until I have to...like when the contract comes up. I know I've changed in life, and I've had buddies that have...so it's possible.

I wouldn't worry about that possibility since very few of them would sign that blank check and serve. JMO>

While they are figuring out a better way, all their buddies are getting mowed down waiting for the final solution. The best plans are usually worthless after the first bullets go down range. You improvise and adjust, and you don't have time for a conference call. In this scenario, Hanks was a civilian teacher before the war for God sakes. JMO>

Not to take anything away from a great game that he had, but the first touchdown involved a bit of luck. First, the Bengals defenders gave up on the play before they realized that they hadn't tackled the receiver yet. Two of the defenders also ran into each other. He really should have been tackled pretty close to the point of reception. The second point that bugged me a little bit was that he didn't finish out his run for the end zone. At about the 15-yard line, he gave up a little bit on his running. Maybe he was gassed, but it looked to me like he eased up on his run for the end zone. He got the touchdown at the end, but he didn't have a big enough margin between him and the defenders to give up his all-out sprint in my opinion.
    .
I do think that he is a great receiver and has the potential to be incredible. But I also am not sure that he has the internal fortitude to put out the effort to achieve that level. He needs to be 100% go whenever he's involved in a play. I'm not seeing that level of play from him, even during his outstanding game against the Bengals.
