Could the Steelers afford him next season? Baker has 26tds to 8 ints. My question is, would he benefit KFP and the qb room? Thoughts on this in 3.. 2…1…Go

He would be a great improvement over anyone on the roster. Kenny would have to be satisfied to be the backup because he would only play if Mayfield got hurt.

I know You won't believe this,....LoL....Hell You might, but when they were drafted I actually thought Mason was better than Baker. I thought Baker just played on a way better team in college. I thought Baker had the better feet, but the weaker arm. I also thought Mason read the field better. I was blown away that Baker was the 1st pick in the Draft. I thought it was crazy.

Which could benefit KFP to watch and learn.

Also Baker has a Wr(which is rare) that looks good with every Qb He has played with, and He has played with a whole bunch. His name is Mike Evans, and He has had good year with every Qb He has played with since being drafted in 2014. He made guys like J. McCown, Mike Glennon, J. Winston, and Ryan Fitzpatrick look decent. Even with those guys He still always had over 1000 yards, with 15.3 yard per catch average.

Honestly, I don't think Baker fits into the AFC North

Hard to say. I've only seen Pickens for a short time. Lots of Wr play different for different Qbs. I know Mike Evans looks good with every single Qb....which is rare.
Example DJ with Mason, and Ben....5, 7, and 8 tds....with other Qbs ...4 in two years. AB had lots of tds with Ben, but He played on 8 games in Pittsburgh without Ben, and never had a td. So in short....I don't know.

People forget that Stephanski was sitting at home the 1 playoff win they had and it was Mayfield that was calling his own game for the most part. Helped that they were gifted a ton of points to start, but it wasn't the HC that won that game for them.

The problem is the structure of the entire situation does not work for this, could we afford him? Probably, but Baker is not likely going to sign for one year and if he oes he is not going to be cheap, so yes if he had no other options he MIGHY sign for 15-25 million (throwing figures out there) and KP could sit. Then after one year you have to make a decision, pick up his 5th year guarantee (which is not cheap), and either trust he is ready on his 4th year, or have signed Baker for 3 years at say mid level starter money and see what happens. I have no idea what Baker will get on the market, but you still have to figure in that 5th year for KP.

They will definitely need to address the QB room. If KP is the one they want to develop, then he is going to on the field, having a proven 2nd is ideal, finding a young 3rd to develop and have in waiting is ideal, doing that Omar and company's job. lol

We should all face it and accept the fact that we are and will be stuck in mediocrity for some time. Unless we go 4-13, trade away half the team for a number one or find a sleeper (Brock Purdy , in spite of last night) in the draft,
We will always be around a .500 team.

I'd stay in Tampa if I were him, seems to fit them well.

But we will see Mike Evans will be playing else where next year, and Chris Godwin is good but not sure how he will be minus Mike Evans.

I would expect our next OC to bring in a QB that knows his offense. if we're lucky the next HC will make sure that happens.

So I think it's pretty safe bet to expect that new QB to compete with Kenny for the starting job. I doubt we keep Mason in Pittsburgh. His performance last week has probably got him a shot with another team.

May benefits KP but I just don't see KP benefitting the steelers. The dude can't throw the sideline pass with any consistency. How many times has he under thrown one of the most important passes in the sport...
