If they really want to draft QB competition, and especially if it's Penix, Jr., there's no need presently to draft up. That would be more if they wanted to secure Jayden Daniels.

Ah yes. Ryan Wilson; the Sir Issac Newton of NFL Draftniks everywhere! He possesses such knowledge that even the likes of Brett Kollmann, Brandon Thron and Jordan Reid combined could never hope to achieve!!!

If that trade up isn't for Jayden Daniels, I might need to use Affirm for another 4K Monitor. Hell, as crazy as this is going to sound, I wouldn't mind a trade up for either Olu Fashanu or Joe Alt either. Both are Franchise Caliber Left Tackles and given how effed the Offensive Tackle situation is heading into 2024, why the hell not?! :lolol:

I would love to have a career in journalism these days. It really takes little effort to get reactive feedback.

I call Penix a left handed Malik Willis. There is no question about his arm strength which is off the charts but everyone in the stadium is in danger when he cuts loose his fastball. If you're a popcorn vendor in the 12th row you better be alert because Penix might nail you in the back of the head.

This isn't even journalism though. This is just a guy who did a mock draft. They always do trades in mock drafts to make it interesting. Not to mention that will do 100 mock drafts and have different results every time. They're just filling empty space on TV/radio. It's not like he's saying we're going to trade up or draft Penix, that's just what he did in that 1 mock draft.

As for Penix Jr. No thanks. I think he has a lot of potential, but the injuries alone scare me off. He's not overly athletic and doesn't escape well, so injuries may continue to pile up as much quicker NFL defensive players smack him around.

He also has an elite cast surrounding him, which he won't have with whoever drafts him.

I think he has bust written all over him

Penix is a far better and natural thrower of the football. He plays in a much more advanced passing offense than Willis ever did, and is much more developed as a quarterback than Willis.

Penix has some very bad and extensive medical history. Other than that, he has shown much more ability than Willis ever has.

Offensive line a much more needed position. Worry about a qb once you have O line addressed. Getting another qb right now would be like putting water in a glass that has a hole in it. Fix the hole first.

This would be the most ridiculous move in history! As some of you know, I'm a PAC 12 (former PAC 12) fan! Penix is a college product! He's a lefty that throws off of his back foot and constantly uses all arm delivery. The QB position, needs intelligence (first) but they also need to be smart with the way they deliver the football. This guy is going to be a turnover machine in the NFL!

Also, the Steelers need on O is OL! Period! Ridiculous that this is even an article!!

According to Mike Tomlin, the hole is part of the growing process and we should run to the hole, understand the hole and work with the hole on being the best hole it can be, rather than try to fix the hole or run from it. The hole doesn't need fixing, obviously. Accepting holes or things of that nature is who we are, it's what we do. We tip our hats to all those glasses without holes out there, but our standard is the standard, and we won't run from glasses with holes. A glass with a hole is part of the NFL and part of life and we accept that and we embrace that.

Highly doubt it but with Khan running things now you never know but I think it much more likely they take one later in the draft.

So, you think Khan is the problem? I thought he did good with the draft. Future talent in JPJ, Herbig, Jones, hopefully we utilize the 8 ft TE we got! I honestly thought that was one of the best Steelers drafts in a long time.

Say what now, lol. I didn’t imply that at all.

Khan was wheeling and dealing last draft plus he didn’t draft Pickett and may not have any commitment to him so you can’t rule it out.

I get it now, but i hope he has enough sense to build O line before getting another qb!

At first glance it was a great draft. We'll see how it pans out. Colbert really didn't do us any favours. I'm glad he's gone.

If we trade up, it better be for someone that actually has a chance at being special, Jayden Daniels... Penix shouldn't go top 10 anyways. He has a bit of Tua in him (aside from just being a lefty and having a medical history), but he isn't quite as great of a prospect Tua was. I could see him becoming successful, but I don't necessarily see a guy that I think has a high chance of being "special"

Few weeks ago, we were two wins from the Divisional title. Today we are two losses from a top 5 pick.

that’s why I said oh boy. Haha. Funny stuff to read but won’t happen. Then again, Tomlin likes to move up for a big splash play, lol.

I don't know what position we will be in. I think we'll wind up in the top 15 and maybe at best 10? (Lose out and get help)
But we do have all 7 picks.
I kind of penciled it what I might hope for, though I'm wide open. There are really only 3 positions I definitely hope to draft - OT, C and WR.
LB would also be nice, so maybe 4. Free Agency will shape the draft some.
I guess, 'just use the draft wisely' would be my hope.
Maybe trade both Pickens and DJ for 7th round picks?

    Round 1 - OT
    Round 2 - WR
    Round 3 - LB
    Round 4 (from LAR) - C
    Round 4 - CB/S
    Round 6 - QB - Need a Dev/backup QB.
    Round 7 - OL
