At the risk of calling out an individual player -

We have to see more from Highsmith.

He is playing opposite Watt and has Heyward playing in front of him.

    Time has passed him by.

Highsmith is becoming a bit of a disappointment.

Highsmith was great early in the season, but he has mostly disappeared. Maybe teams just figured out how to handle him.

I hear what your saying and agree the defense needs to be given some grace, but 6 sacks on the season…..

They either run him out of the play or run at him.

I get the Highsmith thing, but Heyward is mediocre at best.

I hear you, want more from him too, his ILB support has been sporadic this year, so has the DL play. not a fan of Austin as DC either. I think he is good - not great but good, getting better. find him not a huge source of concern yet. much bigger issues, I guess, IMO.

yes - Cam playing on legacy but 70% of prime. injury this year basically shut him down

He too often disappears and you’re left wondering is he in the game?

This. He lights it up for a few games then is invisible in too many. Cam on the other hand is just worn out. He might have played better this season but for the groin injury but how much better is he going to get next season?

I will say when I watch Cam he is going ballz to the …..Maybe his games faded but not his heart. But, I see too many not like him.

Just as an addendum to this post. Sometime ago, I posted something that got more ❌s than anything previous and caused many angry responses. It was out of character for me to say something so negative but I was troubled by what I was seeing. In that post I said my Steelers, our beloved Steelers, were “Soft”.

    They are.

We have a lot if overpriced vets that are disappointing on defense this year. Heyward is age us showing. Ogunjobi is highly overrated. I was not happy when we resigned him. Peterson has to go. The coaching is terrible on defense. We have no outside contain we have given up so many big rush plays on the edge and right through the B gap on Ogunjobi side all year. We literally have one cb that can cover. I have never seen a Steelers team with this many holes not even in the 80’s.

As bad as the team is, every aspect of the team needs to be analyzed and hard decisions need to be made.

If Heyward’s pay is not corresponding with his play, we need to cut ties.

Cam was on the field a lot today. That’s unacceptable and irresponsible when there are guys like Leal and Loudermilk on the roster. Superstars they are not, but let’s see some rotations to keep the players fresh

They absolutely need more from Highsmith. He got embarrassed with that stiff arm from a practice squad RB.

Love Cam but you either tell him to retire or cut him. He’s toast. Ogunjobi is a waste of money as well. So you have Highsmith, Ogunjobi and Cam tying up cap space that we will need. I’d trade Highsmith, Ogunjobi and tell Cam to retire.

I’d personally like Pat P back for 1 more year to help with JPJ.

75% of the defensive snaps yesterday.
He's been around 80% through his career.

The only one worth keeping at this time is Benton. Cam Heyward is a shell of what he was. Khan and Weidl have a lot of work ahead...
