Listining to the fan after a loss like i always do. They mentioned the Steelers were considering a QB change after the loss to the Browns, seems like KP might not be their guy after all?..Also said something abt pursuing the QB from the Bears in the offseason.. Also talked abt trading Tomlin in the off season,( which i believe is a great idea)..........Thoughts?

Sad to say, but I still think Kenny is best QB on this team. Mitch will throw into triple coverage, and Mason is worse in the pocket than Kenny is.

I don't think I would take the guy from Chicago. I haven't seen him play, but I haven't heard great things about him.

If they want a new QB, they need to look elsewhere than Chicago!

I’ve heard the Justin Fields rumor, Tomlin is a huge fan. I just dont know if they are ready to give up on Kenny that quickly.

As I have said before, Khan is the wild card, have to remember Colbert isn’t here anymore. Khan didnt draft Kenny and he may have already made up his mind about him.

Will be a very interesting off season.

I'd get a Marcus Marrioto or a Geno Smith type. Doesn't necessarily have to be one of them.

I'd let Justin Fields try to help us win.

    "The QB from Chicago"

When has Chicago ever had a QB? Jim McMahon? He was only good for the Chicago.
If Chicago is peddling QB's, it's a bit like buying a Ferrari from a Pinto Dealer.
No thanks from me. Fields just isn't that good.

It's tough to find any silver lining in such an acid bath.
The next 2-4 weeks will be insufferable, at least not for the faint of heart.

Hopefully the front office is plotting out the offseason.
Washington has totally blown-up Eric Bieniemy's career... KC misses him.
I like what Bieniemy did for Sam Howell's career.
I'm partial to blowing up Bieniemy's phone as soon as the last whistle blows.
But there are others too, so I won't burst into flames should they not go after Eric.

At least the Bowl games are next up. Big time players make big time plays in big time games.

I don’t want the QB from Chicago. I would prefer Gardner Minshew and to draft a QB. I would be all for trading Tomlin. They need to get an offensive minded head coach in. The NFL has changed and it’s fools gold to prioritize defense when every good defensive play is penalized now. It’s quite simple now on defense. Load up on defensive backs and blitz the hell out of the opposing team to try to force a turnover. That’s pretty much the only thing you can do.

The game today is all about offense. That’s where we are weak and it’s where Tomlin is weak. So it makes sense to move on from him and hopefully get some solid draft picks for Tomlin while he still is an asset.

It will never happen though because that just is not the Steelers way. We have to have three losing seasons in a row and go through another rookie QB debacle before we consider moving on from Tomlin.

Welcome to the 80’s the land of mediocrity!!!

I disagree about mason... his first few years his feet were dancing like they were on fire in the pocket...the last few years his feet are calm and steady... I still think he's head and shoulders over terdbisky

Tomlin is a fan of Fields? Can somebody please let Tomlin know that Fields is complete garbage. The Bears would love nothing more than to replace him.

What a nightmare that would be for this team. I really hope it doesn't happen.
I expect Pickett to be back next year. I expect Tomlin to be back next year.
Tomlin will never be traded. Coaches just dont' get traded. The Steelers sure won't be the team to do it.

Exactly this. And I so think Kenny is ok. He's a middle of the pack QB and now with injuries.

I think next year we will have pickett starting again. And take a center in the first.

I have a hard time believing that Khan wasn't part of the decision to take Pickett. He was due to take over right after that draft. I doubt they took a quarterback he didn't want.

If the QB change was discussed after the Browns game, I'd also assume that included the front office. A benching of Kenny Pickett probably ends his starting career in Pittsburgh barring injuries ahead of him. For as bad as he's been, its still not a decision to take lightly.

I'm a Fields fan just being an Ohio State guy, but I am not sold that he is a legit starting QB of the future. He brings a lot of different things to the offense and would probably be fine in an offense that could run the ball super effectively and gives him the freedom to use his legs as an asset.... but I don't think he's a future SB winning QB if that makes sense. I think he would be an upgrade over Pickett, but it would be an experiment. He's done just ok as a starter, but his teams have been BAD. Very few options to throw to until this season, horrible OL play, no run game aside from him, etc. He would walk into a winning environment and could look like a different player. Or he could be who he is... we won't know for sure. A signing of Fields comes with a contingency plan that we are still open to drafting a QB early or signing a guy to compete with him.

I'd love to trade Tomlin in the offseason. What do we get for him? Idk. Is it enough capital for us to be able to trade into the top 10 for a QB? Lots of things to weigh in on. Tomlin has coached for a long time, I think the message is stale. I'd 100% be open to trying a new, young, talented coordinator as the next HC. I get that its a risk and we could end up worse for it, but I don't think Tomlin is getting us back to the promised land so it is worth the effort.

I think it is possible that Khan both had say in drafting Pickett AND has made his mind up that he isn't working out and we need to look elsewhere.

I am pretty certain they knew Khan was a finalist for the job at that time (maybe even already been internally tabbed), he certainly had input on the selection in some capacity.

I can believe it. Colberts swan song, wanted to cement his legacy and leave the Steelers in good hands. I completely believe that was a Colbert/Tomlin decision all the way. They went to his games all the time, scouted him for years, I think Khan had little if any to do with it.

Also Khan wasn’t hired until a month after the draft. They did a loooooong search to find Colberts replacement.

Doesn’t mean I agree with the process, Mac here often questioned the decision to let Colbert run that draft.

At any rate, I don’t think Khan feels any obligation to stand behind Pickett.

The Field thing might happen, but it's just as risky as using the 2nd you might send for him and grabbing a college QB. You would have to make the deal before the 5th year guaranteed declaration, then try and work a deal like GB did with Love. Not sure Fields would bite, if not be prepared to guaranteed him 25 or more o that 5th year.
