KP does it to everyone though. Pn the pass break up they had on Muth near the end zone Najee was wide open in the middle of the field. KP locks on guys and doesn’t see the whole field.

I agree, but Washington is right in front of Him when it's happening....most of the time.

I would love to see Bennie playing in today’s NFL. As for Washington, personally I think he could be a star at te, if given the opportunity.

In many cases he is probably one of the last progressions and the quarterback doesn't have time to get through all of them.

he is a TE but in an already crowded I want the ball team it will make it difficult for him to get the catches we want him to get.

Maybe someday, but he is a long way from being that player right now.

I never said he was. But he could be our John Mackey.

KP seems to lack the ability right now to read beyond maybe two progressions. It is obvious his first read is almost always DJ. I don’t understand what the issue is right now with him and GP but he clearly favors DJ over him. I know GP isn’t as good of a route runner as DJ and I am sure with him being double teamed alot KP just naturally goes to DJ. It was also obvious that they schemed to get the ball to Friermuth last game and so he was KP’s first read. Where KP needs alot of work is seeing the field and actually being able to get the ball to the second or third options. His pocket awareness, not panicking when the first option isn’t open and seeing the field while moving within the pocket are the things he needs to work on. I doubt Washington will ever get a pass unless he is the first read on the play. Those dump offs to the RB’s are often first reads or a safety valve to KP that he checks down to.
I really realized how lacking KP is in finding open receivers or progressing to the second or third reads in the last game, when he forced the ball to Friermuth near the goal line when Najee was wide open across the middle. KP had it in his mind in that game and on that throw to to throw it to Firermuth because that was the game plan. He had nice game last game but he still has a ton of work to do and hopefully the last part of this season he can regain some confidence and start growing.

If anything the one game gave us it was at least a re-start on KP. Like you said still a lot of work and he may or may not be the guy, but watching and hearing some reports from Ben and others, and how the new OP's are communicating with the team shows just how bad Canada was. Yes there were people open and lousy throws, but there was very little communication. Explaining not only to KP, but the entire O why we are planning this and what adjustments needed done to try and make it work. The entire fiasco just makes me SMH, perhaps it would not have been good, but it certainly could not have been much worse.

He was lined up as RT against the Bengals when they went unbalanced and put Jones outside Moore on the left side.

I think you need to see how he develops as a TE next year before considering this as they lack pass catching depth.

Let’s see what they do with him now that Canada is gone. Despite all his draft hype he wasn’t close to being that type of receiving threat in the pros and will take time to develop. He’s not on par with some of the rookie TE’s tearing up the league this year, probably won’t see anything out of him until year two, maybe the end of this season the earliest.

Maybe wait until he makes even one big play in the NFL before you start talking about him reaching the level of a Hall of Famer.
