The Redskins new owners will move on from the current staff at the conclusion of the season ( probably sooner for Ron) and Eric’s will be looking for a job.

He’ll probably get a HC interview somewhere but he’s still to close to Andy. May need another OC job to further distant himself from Andy ..

….. So the Steelers would be the Perfect fit for him!

I don't see how he doesn't gets a HC job ... He probably wouldn't want to come here.

Right now, Washington is in its usual state of disparity, under achieving yet again.
They dislike Eric... because of all things, he doesn't run the ball much.
I have to say to them, you didn't do your homework. KC was not/is not a running team.
The smart thing would be to let Rivera go and bring Eric on as the Interim Coach and get a free evaluation.
But that doesn't seem to be the thinking here.
I don't know anything about Harris, the owner.

I would like to get Eric here, but there's a couple teams going to be looking for Head Coaches.
You never know, we might be one.
Eric as a Head Coach - I dunno. I like his fire and I like the way he ran the Offense at training camp. He had everyone on pace and everything under control.
I just don't know though when it comes to game time and running the entire team.
I know Sam Howell won't be happy if he moves on.

In the past you could always count on Washington making the worst decision.
I don't know if that remains true.

I'm of the belief that most OC's are NOT one trick pony's. A good coach can coach whatever scheme you want them to use. The challenge is coaching the scheme the works best given the talent you have and the opponent's you are playing. Where the coach really comes in IMO is their ability to TEACH and motivate the players . How well can you get players to execute what you are teaching them? How well do you prepare the players? A team that is full of mistakes on game day is a team that is not fully prepared to run the plays you are asking them to run. The other key aspect IMO is game planning and in game play calling. How good are you at seeing weaknesses in the opponent and exploiting them? How organized are you to get the calls in quickly and make changes when necessary?

Every OC runs different schemes during their career. I'm sure they all have their favorites. They all have an opinion on what works best against certain teams or in today's NFL. Some may have a better understanding of one scheme over another.... point is I don't think scheme is as important as you think.... Eric can probably adjust his offense to run the ball more. It's not rocket science.

I think it's also worth mentioning that Kenny has had an NFL qb coach in his ear since we drafted him. He probably had the same in college? IDK. But I'm a little concerned that he's not showing progress. That's not all on Canada's bad offense... Let's not forget Tomlin also believed in this offense. What we have seen the last 3 years is not just Canada pulling this offense out of his ass and surprising Tomlin with it.

Bienemy might have a shot at the Washington job, he probably wouldn't do any worse than Rivera.

New Owners never seem to promote from within. They have money and want a big splash; not the Next Man Up.

Not sure why Eric Bienemy left Kansas City? After watching last nights game the Chiefs offense is looking terrible under Matt Nagy.

Bieniemy will probably get the Washington HC job but if he doesn’t he’d be a great fit as Steelers OC

What I read somewhere was that Bieniemy and Reid agreed that he could go because they expected the HC role in Washington to open up sooner than later and being in the building might give him a path to the job.

The move makes no real sense otherwise, why go from coaching Mahomes to Washington

It will be very interesting to see if he can attract a top OC with Tomlin here and on his last year of his contract (please ARII do not under any circumstances extend this guy again), particularly if Pickett looks like a dumpster fire the rest of the season.

I get all the Commanders games in northern VA. Their offense is mistake and turnover prone. Bienemy’s drill sergeant approach hasn’t seemed to fix those problems at all. I’ll pass.

This issue with this is a couple things.

    * Mike Tomlin is responsible for that hire. He gave him the job despite a poor resume. He stuck with him even though the product on the field was bad, even with Ben, Mason and Kenny. Canada's offense was a joke among piers and nearly all analysts.
    * Art steeped in a did the firing. Why? Because his Franchise rookie QB has digressed. I don't go along with the mob mentality that Kenny sucks, I've been around the game too long. The offensive design was terrible. The damage caused by Canada to Pickett will not be known for a while.
    * Not all OC's are the same but let's be honest, there are only so many routes, and so many running lanes. It's all about creating the angles and causing confusion for the defense. Matt had no concept of that.
    * Poor decision making - Jones should have been in the lineup. Players they picked up have not worked out - especially the OL. The design is poor but the OL still did not execute run blocking or pass blocking very well.
    * The poor offense design would challenge Tom Brady to be any good in it. But yes, Kenny is struggling. Kenny was never projected to be a Mahomes, but should be solid and I think he can still be so. We're not seeing Interceptions, fumbles, stupid reads etc.... we are seeing failed mechanics. Some might be attributed to having sore ribs (that should be much better) some could be waning confidence.

I don't know if they take Canada's playbook and throw it in a bonfire, they should. Mike Sullivan knows the OC spot, he's not going to turn anything around, but he should know plays that work in given situations and can run them through the gameplan preps. He should have the common sense that if he's playing a team and Warren is lighting the Defense up, stick with it. Through the air, DJ has some issues, Pickens is not a precision route runner, lacks discipline, and those backups are nothing special. I don't know what happens there.

So it is a conglomeration of bad personnel decisions, poor coaching and execution on the player's part. There is a remote possibility if Mike Sullivan can get the offense to 'buy into what he is selling' that things get better.

Meanwhile, over in DC. Eric has two really good RB's and he's not running the ball much at all. They are having conniptions.
I'd take him. I have no doubt he could get Kenny on the right path.

I think he ends up the HC in Carolina if they fire Frank.

Yeah, because he's doing such a great job with Carolina, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get fired after one year.

Excuse my ignorance about EB, but why is so many wanting him here? What sets him apart from all the other potential OC's. Reid called the shots in KC IIRC, which may be why he left there, and now with the Redskins facing termination. Is there more to this than my simplistic recollection of this guy? I just would like to avoid another hire we HOPE works out and later ends up in the land of misfit OCs/ coaches. JMO>

Not sure how I feel about Eric B. I think he may need another run at OC before a HC job. A little of the shine has come off without Mahomes and Andy.

Charger are cheap…and you could probably get him on the cheaper side of HCs right now. He knows that division well and would have Herbert. If I’m him that’s where I’m trying to go.

And let’s face it. Steelers ain’t Shelling out the kinda money it would take to bring him here as an OC.

My wish list starts with hitting Munch to be oline coach again

    Then for OC

    I like
    Eric Bienemy,
    Todd Haley,
    Byron Leftwhich,
    Darrell Bevell

    QB coach. Bryan Hsrsin

I also think it's time to bring in a new DC... just look what Schwartz has done in his short time in Cleveland

You know what's coming, milque-toast and/or "from within" hires - anyone interesting, with a resume that might worry MT, or cost any money - forget about it.
