i think the noise just got too much.

BTW, Rooney is more of a public figure than Dan Rooney was. should let the football people run the football business like dan did. Don't like the showy owners. we don't need John Gotti-like hollywood owners.

Glad to see something happen. We all hope for good things to happen going forward. However, I am not sure this will change anything regarding the offensive "philosophy" of the team which has been lead by the OC but also an extension of the HC as well. Everything that has transpired on our offense was approved and/or tolerated by those above Canada and allowed to go on for weeks/months/years. I'd expect them to do the standard "next man up" in the middle of a season shuffle but I am not convinced this move will show what most would hope for. Maybe it will. Who the hell knows with this regime. It could be that this move was made to take pressure off of the HC who apparently would not fire a poor performer and it took the owner to force the matter? This is an owner trying salvage himself perhaps and before dissent from within the locker room crossed a point that mandated something happen and before things went further South. I think it's evident that ARII visits this board for some insight on what to do. JMO>

Haven't read all your posts and I will, but unless Tomlin wasn't allowed to fire Canada until now he should be fired as well at the end of the season for waiting so long. We will never know but man I would like to no the answer to that question, because waiting this long and doing what we all said to do at the bye is really stupid. It would have given the Steelers more time to see if KP could progress. Yes I know its the same playbook but you can add some wrinkles and the way you call a game can be different.

I am kind of shocked this happened. But something had to give.

Actually the evidence lately has shown that there is a lot you can change in 6 days. Problem being that those staffs acknowledged that they needed to make changes and prepare, Tomlin has never acknowledged that changes need to happen even when Ben was lost for the season he didn't seek to reinvent the wheel. He will need to change now.

Wow you might have answered my question before I posted it. Maybe Tomlin couldn't do it or he stepped in to do it himself because Tomlin wouldn't??

I trust Dulac as far as I can throw a school bus, but this does make sense.

It's about time. Seemed like they were about to lose the locker room.

Chuks, Najee, Pickens, and DJ have all been visibly/vocally frustrated with the offense.

That isn't really true. They are just handing the offense to someone already on the staff and the transition may make things worse before they get better. That's not an excuse for Pickett getting even worse the last few week, but it may take time for this move to help.

I think this makes it more likely they wait to see what he does next season, not less. I'm not saying that is the right decision, but I do think it is fair to say having a terrible offensive coordinator set Pickett's development back.

That is my hope, too, but I wonder if any internal interim OC is really going to be able to fix things quickly.

Kenny needs to sit for a while. If he has a chance to be the QB for the future if the Steelers work with him. The QB coach that was supposed to work with him is now the OC. So I'm not sure if that's a good move or not. I have no faith that he's the right guy.

He should be next because, if nothing else, he was beginning to lose the locker room.

Right and I've actually said that multiple times. I fully expect the organization to give Kenny the rest of this season going into next with a new offensive coordinator or maybe one of the interim guys earns the job.
I do expect that if things go badly, he will be on a shorter leash.

Perhaps a few wrinkles and calling the game should be different. Can we be less predictable at minimum????

I doubt there’s going to be any wholesale changes. The playbook will remain the same. The flow of the play calling will change. No more three straight passes and punt when we needed to control the clock and get into FG range
