The Steelers and Tomlin need this. We need more embarrassing losses and discension within the team. It’s the only thing that will get Rooney and Tomlin to actually take a step back and change.

those two are ultimately responsible for everything wrong and everything right with the team. The pattern needs to change. They need to ask these questions?
Why do young QB’s outside of Ben continue to fail under us?
Why does the blocking fail so miserably year after year or take so long to get going when we invest assets into it?
Why can’t we get good competent Coordinators in here and build a lasting coaching tree?

I think those are probably the best three questions they need to ask themselves. If they answer them honestly they will make the right changes. If they fail to ask those questions or lie to themselves then it’s just gonna be more of the same moving forward.

one of the biggest lies Tomlin tells us and himself is we don’t play in our fears. Heck the whole foundation of their schemes and coaching style is completely governed by fear.

the offense is conservative and adverse if risk. The QB’s (it doesn’t matter if it is KP, Mitch or Rudolph) all play the exact same way. Nervous, skittish and tentative. Don’t turn the ball over us beaten into their head and then high percentage predictable play calls are the game plan week after week with rb screens, rb passes to the flat, bubble screens, TE curls and WR sideline passes.

it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see they don’t trust their QB’s. The QB’s realize this. It completely undermines their confidence. It is completely playing in your fears. It is a warped way of coaching and winning and it is unsustainable.

yes KP and Canada stink but honestly we saw all this before with Rudolph and whoever the OC was before Canada. This is all influenced by Tomlin. Cowher coached like this too to a degree but it was a different era where defenses were actually allowed to play defense so you could build a team around defense and a run game. You can’t do that anymore in todays NFL.

if Tomlin is unwilling to change then Rooney has to recognize that and move on from him.

I would think the two blowout losses and getting beat pretty soundly by Jacksonville at home would be enough of a "wake up call" for this team. Our offense is awful, QB is terrible, and this is the kind of result you're going to get.

Defense isn’t much better. 25th in yards allowed. I have no idea why we didn’t blitz their QB yesterday more. That’s what you do to rookie QB’s.

I stopped after the first paragraph. Nothing will change enough to make a deep run again under Tomlin. NOTHING.

Browns fan here. They’ve been saying on Cleveland radio that we as Browns fans should want Kenny to play well enough so that the Steelers don’t look for someone else. I take that to mean that the Steelers are a qb away from being a legitimate contender. Either way, I’m pretty sure that your guys will win out - easy schedule from this point considering Joe Burrow is out. I’m not so sure about the Browns- granted we won but the kid almost threw 2 pic 6s. Plus we have yet to play the rams and an improving Broncos team.

Because their rookie qb was getting rid of the ball in under 2.2 seconds. They can’t physically get to the qb in that amount of time. It’s an exercise in futility. We saw the same thing last night that we’ve seen countless times before. Defenses play to stop the run and dare big k to beat them and he’s not up to the task. The only reason we’ve won 6 games is the defense keeping the score down.

There were times he had more time than that. But the fact we only rushed 4 means we had maximum coverage. How do you continually leave guys wide open underneath ? You can’t play man to man because the QB will take off and run but we are not good at playing zone defense. I get it we have slot of injuries. They need to reload the defensive backfield. Also get a good coverage mlb.

It would be great to get a franchise QB they cover a lot of warts. The Steelers problem is mor foundational and honestly it starts with Tomlin. He either had a franchise QB to cover a lot of warts or a great defense. We don’t have either right now. I feel like Tomlin is so tenured that as a result the Tooneys have given him too much power and leeway.

The Rooneys aren’t go to fire Tomlin they just don’t do that but they need to make some fundamental changes and take some power and control away from him. His stubbornness to resist change is so frustrating. Not firing the OC or on a micro level continuing to play Najee over Warren are just two of many examples.

I don’t see the Steelers being successful again until we trade for a veteran QB because Tomlin just does not know how to develop young QB’s. That is obvious and he has too much pride to admit it and bring in legitimate help.

Cleveland was the better team. You guys may not go far this year because of the injuries but next year. Your only issue is your window is going to be very short because your not gonna be able to afford everyone with the limited cap space.

The last thing we need to care about is the Browns opinion when it comes to QB's.
