Or....You can just say nobody is open, and there is nothing in the middle of the field. Whichever
If You don't want to listen to the guy. Turn down the sound, and use Your own eyes.

Exactly. He actually did that twice, but this ole boy didn't go over the 2nd time.
How did He not see DJ go wide open by a mile into the middle of the field later. Yet some will say We have nothing to the middle of the field?? Correct...if You don't look there.
Although We must give Him credit on the Correct plays, and reads He did make, and keep hoping He progress. As long as We win...I can handle baby steps. LoL

This is all good to watch and for us to see the things KFP is missing. However the game is not played in slow motion.

KFP’s biggest problem is in his head

Watch last night's game and you can see the elite Josh Allen try to drop a laser into triple coverage on the sideline where 2 Broncos had a shot at picking it off. Sometimes these guys get convinced that they can do things, they can't or shouldn't. We have had our fill of hey Ben your te is open for the 1st down and a 6 yard completion. That's ok I'm going to throw it 50 yards downfield into triple coverage because it's AB and it will get on SportsCenter. If it doesn't? Well we'll get it the next time.

Agreed, and Agreed. Although it's played at the same speed for all Qbs, and that's why some make the biggest bucks, and have the biggest cap hits.

I honestly don’t think he got enough snaps in pre season, I know it was just all vanilla on both sides, but his confidence was at an all time high and all the expectations were expected to be carried into the season, and then the first game his confidence has taken a big hit and he hasn’t been able to recover. The only time he seems to have confidence is in the 4th quarter now, and that’s because that’s where he has had the most success.

49ers have made a lot of teams look bad this year. It sucks that We started the season against them.
Let's hope they still have something to play for when the Ravens play them.

Just in case any may have missed this because they have set STD to “ignore” because of his glowing personality, I’m reposting the video link. Of course, by glowing I mean like spent nuclear fuel :lolol:

The video shows more missed opportunities that shouldn’t be left on the field. On one of them, DJ was so open coming across the deep middle on 3rd down that the post office had to create a new zip code for him. I do disagree with the narrator about KP not taking the open hole shot starting at around 17:00 on the video. You take that hole shot when you’re trying to score points, but the right decision when you’re running out the clock is to ensure that the clock keeps moving, especially when a QB is struggling. Either something short and high percentage, or the run like KP did is the right thing to do.

However, even if someone doesn’t want to watch evidence of KP struggling, watching starting at 17:20 is still interesting because it shows just how terrible the OPI call on Austin was. The defender who was beaten by Pickens weaves away from Pickens and into Austin’s path. It was the defender who initiated the contact. I also have to say kudos to KP on the play because the pass was where it needed to be and should have ended the game.

This is the play that drives me nuts.
    It is a crossing route.
My biggest problem is where they call it and when. I forget the down and distance on this one, but I see the chains up around the 32 (Looks like it.)
This is a great play. It should be a go to play for medium distance.

    Now what I think.
There's no doubt about a sophomore slump and some might call it lazy to blame coaching.. But I have been there.
Kenny does take care of the ball but as the guys says, his field of vision has narrowed.
Coaching comes into play (especially a QB coach) by running this play over and over (reps) to get it right.
You don't just stand around and say, "you gotta throw the ball here."
His QB coach needs to have him in the film room, run this read over a few times. Then go out and rep it.

I am a huge, huge fan of Peyton Manning and had some opportunity to be around him some that first year which was not great.
What I love about him was, he would sit in that film room for hours going over and over the plays that went wrong. That guy lived football 24/7.
So, it is a little coaching, a little of applying himself. You gotta apply yourself if you don't have all those natural abilities. You gotta give yourself a chance.
This along with all the All22 film I been through, I'm seeing dumb (coachable) miscues. Last year he would hit that throw.
Nobody has mentioned Kenny doesn't apply himself, but I got the feeling in camp that maybe he could do more.
Mike Sullivan is the QB Coach and normally I think he's a decent coach. He's got a bunch of QB coach and OC experience.
I would hope that this sort of thing is coached. I suspect it will be. (I did see them on the sidelines going over the tablet - hopefully that' stuff being covered)
    This is clearly execution.

Of note: GB rushes 4. 7 in coverage. They are getting decent pressure.

Yes Kenny is struggling. The grand wazoo Canada is doing everything to scheme a great passing attack :lolol:

Well both best figure one out because when the ground game is grounded(which may happen this Sunday) then what happens?

Yes Kenny has missed throws but its not like he forgot how to. Tomlin has him so under wraps not to make a mistake that it is nauseating. You don't draft a QB in the 1st round to just be a game manager and be saddled with a blatant conservative approach.

I'm not saying throw it all over the lot, mix it up. Play action, screens, hitting the middle of the field, quick passes. Where are they grand wazoo? He is not capable of this out of the box thinking.

Kenny does have to scope the field better. But if a call is sent in and its a play that is supposed to be in a certain spot does he go away from what the gran wazoo just called? IDK.

Canada is gone after this season no matter what hopefully. A new coordinator with an innovative system comes in and if Kenny struggles then its time to look for another QB in the 2025 season.

This is such absolute horse crap. Everyone knows bigk is a god. He’s being held back by a head coach that doesn’t know X’s and O’s And the worst offensive coordinator in recorded history. You people and your YouTube videos should be ashamed

To your point, I saw one dumb review by a talking head. He said, I am paraphrasing, that Kenny can't throw 50 times a game.
They had him throwing 50 times as a rookie.
I don't question Kenny's arm strength, it's not Elway strong... but more than sufficient.
And I know his ribs are a bit sore.

But to your point, yes... he's got to stop starring down, and telegraphing.
If he can't, then perhaps they go a different direction at QB.

My understanding was that he was a film junkie. Ran through every incomplete pass he threw last year. Clearly if true that has not translated into success at this point, but it was something I heard in the offseason that got me excited. Obviously without being there hard to no what his level of effort / film study was.

I do think there is truth to the fact that he isn't seeing the full field because he is being coached not to lose the game. At some point they are going to have to remove the cuffs and live or die by the sword. Will that equal success? Dunno.

Indeed factors into his play presently. QB coach could be an issue as well. We dont hear much about it. His confidence is indeed shaken. The game is still too fast for him.

I noticed several times this season not only in Steeler games but across the league, that when a play has been made that ends the game a flag comes flying out on a tricky tack call that they haven't called all game. I don't know if the refs are under instructions to keep the game going or it is just another example of them trying to make themselves a bigger part of the game than they need to be.

I listened to the dk sports morning podcast and he talked about Sullivan. Basically said the feeling around the org is Sullivan is doing a poor job as qb coach. On the locked on Steelers podcast they talked about Sullivan being promoted to oc mid season when he was with the giants. Apparently the giants offense got worse with Sullivan calling plays

I am not sure about the cuffing... it may well be true. "don't lose the game Kenny" cause you see those calls at the end of the game where the offense has the ball, and they call some really dumb safe plays. So, it may be true.

If he is studying those films, then it's failure not to get out the run him through Reps to get that a play working right.
I don't agree with the "College Open" throws... he's threaded some needles. I think his ribs are causing him to sail passes.. but he should be getting better.
I want him to succeed because I don't want to blow picks on QB's... QB is a huge investment.

sullivan, thomas, canada, corley and we could throw in MT. all these guys are coaching kenny. one common denominator is pickett. i've said before maybe it's too many. maybe it's just pickett. there is no other position that is getting this much coaching. i don't believe it's who's coaching him but the pupil himself.

We are far past Pre-season at this point. He's had rep after rep with the offense. He refuses to come off his first read and stares at the receiver he's going to throw to. We have the perfect storm at this point. Kenny at QB and Canada at OC. But we keep on winnig

Last year, Mitch Trubisky was pulled to insert Kenny and get a spark in the offense. However, doing that now with Mitch Trubisky would be just more of the same. I think the offense needs a change up, put Mason in for a different dimension of the offense.
