You can't be happy with Moore. One of the worst tackles in the league. I didn't even mention we need DB help as well. I certainly could be wrong, but this team needs to get better in other areas first before taking another swing at QB. This team will likely be drafting in the 20's, so all the best QB's will be gone anyway and there will probably be better value in the 2nd round at other positions.

If Watson plays on Sunday vs Steelers... like he did at Ravens, this is gonna get ugly quick.

We better hope Fitzpatrick is back and 100%.

I hope that Watson will be garbage like he was yesterday in the first half(6-20 and 1 interceptions)...He was perfect in the second half...The Browns running game is also very good,so this is such a huge challenge

    Totally agree.
If the Steelers decide to go QB, the costs will be huge. (That's really the only point)
I don't have a favorite yet till the Bowl games. Big time players show up for big time games.

I want to stop short of saying we need to look for a TE... lol.
I do like Freiermuth, but you hit the weak points of his game.
Kenny does at time stare or telegraph his throws... That's coaching. They have to get him out of that habit.
He had 2 throws to the safety valve that could have been pick 6's because of that.

I don't think the swing pass to Warren was a safety valve. I think he was the primary target. The problem was that he wasn't open, so Pickett should have looked elsewhere.

I don't think it's coaching. Some young QBs get the hang of looking off defenders and progressing quickly through their reads very soon into their careers.. others, it takes more time for them to get that comfortable. And others, the game is simply too fast for them, and they never get the hang of it. That's generally what separates starters from backups. So far, we haven't seen Kenny take that next step. As an older QB coming out of college who was supposed to be pro ready, that's concerning halfway through year two.

    That's a safety valve route.
But tomato tomato.. it's a horrible design by Canada and a terrible call in that situation.
Looking at the replay, he's got a route crossing in.
That route(play) should always have an option route to compliment it. In this case it did, Kenny should be in the film room and Canada should be letting him know that when the LB clamps down on that route, check the backside.

I still disappointed that they don't move Pickens more. They did put him in the stack a couple times but not nearly enough movement.
And those dang 3rd and a yard plays with the Defense stacked in the box... Canada has no play to counter that.
There's not even an attempt at a fake handoff or any misdirection.
And Kenny could use a snap count cadence to throw them off.

But it is a conglomeration of things.
We're not going to get anything objective or constructive in this toxicity here.

Pickens was ahead of him before the pick.

I think Pickett is regressing due to a lack of coaching. But in Canada's defense (I know that sounds strange coming from me), is he having to dumb down the offense because he knows that Pickett is having a difficult time processing the defensive alignment, progessing through his reads and grasping certain route concepts? When you look at Pickett's low Wonderlic score, which I was surprised by, makes you wonder (no pun intended, lol) about his overall football IQ.

Wonderlic tests, like most standardized exams, are flawed. The biggest problem with them is trying to judge a player's mental skills in a classroom rather than on the field.

I agree especially with #9 and #10. I would also mention that Broderick Jones looked awesome. Should've started since week 1.

I think if they were dumbing it down, I think there would be some hard feelings apparent. I have been an up close and personal witness to that sort of thing.

Usually when you have a young QB, you like a mentor/vet.
They got Trubisky but wow does he suck. I had much higher hopes for him - I was wrong.
I can't say much about Mason. He's helped a lot but really, what do you learn there? Not to allow your helmet to get ripped off?
So, we don't have a great environment.

I have also had my eye on Washington with Sam Howell.
Eric is a wonderful OC and has taken Sam under his wing and despite the team being not good, I think they've found a true legit QB.
    I admire Eric for that.
*Note: Washington is probably headed for a huge rebuild. Rivera is a good coach but has reached his ceiling. Del Rio's defense just sucks. I expect them to fire the whole staff.
Don't know if they move Eric to HC though... So, I would keep an eye on that.

Also looking at Houston, I am seeing the same situation. They kept Stroud all through camp beside coaching. Worked him through the design and each rep.
Excellent job there too. They got him some weapons too.

Tua, everyone though he was done. The nerdy coach (McDaniel) and Smith really did a nice job there.

All I can say is, when you draft a QB to be your franchise QB, you better invest in some resources to guarantee success as much as possible.
Sometimes it is a fail anyway.
It is costly no matter what.

Exactly. They see the same as We do, but they are going off what is working for them the best. We are now winning the exact same way as We were winning last year. Running game, D, and KFP.....don't f**k it up. I really can't wait to look at the all 22. I have been seeing baby steps by KFP, but I'm not sure about this week.

I don't think He likes Washington. Twice I seen He had Him open, and instead of throwing to him He ... once almost threw a int, and the other ran out of bounds.

Again. We have run play action. Let me ask You a question. Have You seen what happens every time we run play action??? Most of the time it ends up being KFP running. They are not stupid. There is nothing We are seeing they aren't. So knowing this, and seeing what happens most of the time We run play action....makes Me think.....that's why they don't call it more. Not every Qb is good at turning their back on the D, and then reestablishing their vision on the targets.

I actually didn't know about this , or put it this way....if I did....I blocked it out. People make fun of the wonderlic , but look at most who have a low score....., and some try to call Ben big dumb.....what the hell does it make KFP??? I will try forgetting this again. LoL

They aren't that flawed. I don't know about now, but they at one time were done in a time limit, and was designed to show how fast you made decisions, and how quickly You thought through things, and most of the questions aren't that complicated. I don't know if it's the same, but I know that's how it was at one time.

This hits the nail on the head, for me.

I was under no illusions we would simply move on from Ben to another HoF QB. We can argue all we like about whether they should have taken Pickett at no.1 etc. etc. but they did, and that's our guy. I'm dubious that we would find an instant starter franchise QB even if we were picking early in the draft.

    Definitely.

    Terry Bradshaw scored 13.
Dan Marino scored 15, as did Randall Cunningham.
    Jim Kelly 14.

    Not exactly poor performing QBs.

It's like having an incredibly fast RB like Stefan Logan or Dri Archer - it doesn't matter how fast they are if they can't read the field and react to defenders.
