Every July people complain they can't get tickets, how it's just not fair, etc. Well tickets are available cheap on StubHub right now. Or were the July posts all from fair weather fans?

I have tickets. I'm going. I will root just as hard. Come join me.

    Happy New Year

I will be there Sunday. Hopefully there will be some snow since we have seen none where I live in Virginia.

There will be many no shows Sunday. But the Steelers no showed on the paying customers all season, so I say hey that's fair. But, we really need to get back down to being a feared place to play again. 3 home losses in a row in not acceptable.

sometimes your favorite band puts out a sh@tty album so
it's easy not to go to the show of that album

I'd love to go Sunday. Tickets are cheap. I did notice that some were still asking $500 per ticket on NFL ticket exchange. Who's going to pay that?

    Attendance will be abysmal.
But this shouldn't surprise you. Steelers fans are merely average when it comes to supporting their team. They are just as fair weathered as every other fan base out there.

    I should shut up now....

I am sitting in the upper deck Sunday. I guess I could try to move down but I am hearing that the high seats are actually the best.

They are, you can see plays developing. I was in level 6 last game of the season, actually the last Steeler Browns game before model moved them. This game is not the game in the below story though

I told this story before on this board I think. Way back my brother had tickets to the Browns - Steelers last game of the season. I was still in the Marines. My brother had 4 tickets to the game, (and couldn't find one of his friends or brothers to go with him) given to him by vendors wanting him to use their product. It was cold. Our mom lived 5 minutes from three rivers stadium. He was thinking do I want to go in there and freeze my ass off or should I go watch it at mom’s house. About that time a guy in a Browns jacket ran up to him all excited and said hey buddy, know where I can get some tickets? They were $25.00 tickets, level 6. He said I have 4, guy said how much, brother said $30.00 the guy stuffed $130 in his hands and grabbed the tickets and ran off. As he was running off my brother finished his sentence which was “for all four”. I also know that you can see any game for under the ticket value listed. Wait till Kick-off and the scalpers will take a discount. Something is better than nothing. You may miss 5 plays tops.

I will probably be at the stadium a couple of hours early for the pre-game contests and activities and to take a bunch of pictures. I do remember a few scalpers around when I went to the 2005 preseason game against the Dolphins.

I hope this is in jest. The talking heads were mentioning on Sunday that 3 rivers/Heinz has been sold out every home game since '72. You want some fair weather fans? Come to San Diego. Even the few times they're good, a sell out is rarely guaranteed until the NFL deadline.

I have a friend in Miami who says a good chunk of the crowd is gone half way through the 3rd quarter even when they're winning.

Check the average attendance. Pittsburgh is middle of the pack at about 96% every year. Sell outs are one thing. Actually going to the game is another.

My familys season tickets are in the 5th row behind the "You're in Steeler Country" sign. Nothing like hearing those pads slapping. I was at the game vs Cleveland where Ben got his first start and ran his first td right in front of me. He hit Plexico on a long bomb going the other way too. It was a magical time, you could feel that Ben was something special.
Not quite the same excitement with this game. Good game for some fans to get a good deal on tix and take some young Steelers fan to his first game though.

If you get tickets down behind the bench, will they sign any autographs before the game while they are warming up? Would love to get Troys autograph before he retires.

All those seats are sold out right? What's the Rooney's care about empty seats? They got their money.

I'm jealous of your seats. Every fan should experience a Steeler home game. The corwd the stadium and some Renegade in the forth quater is amazing. It is an experience that can't be properly explained through words alone. Win or lose I go to one game every year. I'm disappointed witht he loss but I have enjoyed every trip I've taken there!!!!!!!

So that said bail don't go real Steeler fans don't care; we will be here in the good and bad years. I bleed Black and Gold (Done alot of bleeding this year though).

I once saw Tommy Maddox signing during warmups. Usually players are "in the zone" at that time and don't interact with fans.

I've actually used a similar analogy. I would feel ripped off if I paid top price for concert tickets and only half the band showed up. Well, that was how I felt at the San Diego game. Don't get me wrong, I bleed Black and Gold-- I just wish our players and coaches did too.
