Pickett, but Purdy in the first 3 quarters. At least as things stand now

Couldn't have said it better. If this kid is going to be the guy he has to play better in the first 3 quarters. It is mystifying why he can't play well in the beginning of the game. At this point the jury is still out on Kenny

It is rare for our boys. There is one team that they have given us relaxing games since the dawn of the 3rd millennium, the Carolina Panthers. Last time we played them it was probably the closest game and we still won. We have pretty much dominated them and some of the games right from the start.

It is very safe to say we owe the hell out of them. Kind of wish we played them every year;)

I feel confident in Kenny, but overall, it doesn't matter if Joe Montana is our qb... . If we're behind in the 4th quarter, I'm not gonna be comfortable

One of his losses was against the Ravens last year when Pickett was out very early in the game

That's a great stat and he does some great stuff late in games, but it's a little early to compare him to Patrick Mahomes who has a much larger sample.

I think we might have had a chance against the Jags if KP wouldn't have got hurt. We were down 7 when the fourth quarter began but Mitch threw 2 picks, he was the opposite of clutch when the game was still in reach.

Because tomlin is the one out there missing receivers, missing blocks, throwing interceptions, committing penalties…

Hey, if he receives no credit for the bad things the team does... he shouldn't receive any credit for the good either. Can't be all "Tomlin has this team at 5-3 with an inept offense, wins all close games... he's the best!" and at the same time "the team's struggles in the first 3 quarters have nothing to do with Tomlin! Not his fault his players suck and make bad plays!"

I've been a Tomlin detractor, but there's gotta be some realism in the takes on him. He can both simultaneously be a person the players like and want to play for AND be someone that is too stubborn, stuck in the past, poor evaluator of coordinators, poor personnel decision maker, etc. He can also simultaneously be a potential HoF coach due to his entire resume and also be a sucky coach right now.

This really is kind of laughable. The players are doing things they’ve been coached not to do their entire lives, but you find a way to try and blame the coach

First off, there will always be mistakes and things you do that you've been coached not to do. That's part of being an athlete. I was a pro athlete for 5 years and in my experience first hand, even the best players in the world will do things they weren't coached to do, make mistakes, etc.

All I was pointing out was that you can't praise the coach for all the good and then pass all the blame for the bad to the players. He is just as responsible for one as he is the other. Players making mistakes at a high rate, communication issues, game plan issues... these are all signs of poor preparation and poor coaching. Just pointing out that this goes both ways, not just one.

I'm not confident at all. I think we are on a lucky streak right now. I'm probably the biggest KP supporter there is I'm rooting hard for his success, but he needs to get his **** together and start playing 4 quarters of consistant football.

I kinda hope he doesn't... I fear a "consistent" 4 quarters puts us in the 4 bad quarters category.

He needs to play 3-4 quarters like he has in certain 4th quarters this season.
