Say what you want but I want him back too. When ever this guy is on the field he is a threat to the opposing team.

I'd like to have Wallace back too but at what cost? If he's still looking for a big pay day after last season then let him walk. If he's lost concentration already wait until he's enormously wealthy.

In that video they go on to interview Big SNack at one point they ask him how he felt about his performance. TO which he responded once I got healthy I had a pretty good year. The follow up to that was "it took me a while to get healthy, probably around mid-season".

I'm for Wallace, also. I don't know about the money situation, though. And I think the Steelers have put themselves in a spot having paid Brown so much, already.

All in all, I don't see the production of the two as that much different, overall. If Brown is getting $50M then I think Wallace should, also. I know others don't agree, but I see it this way... Wallace supposedly doesn't run routes, as well and he had a drop issue, this year... However, he opens up the secondary due to drawing attention and scores more than most other players (he has tremendous big play ability). AB had a drop issue (briefly), doesn't score as much, fumbles at the worst times and seems he sometimes has problems finding the deep ball... However, he's a definite go-to guy on 3rd down.

I'd like to see all of Young Money back... but they need to "clean up the detail" as Brown said about Wallace in an interview...

Clearly a partial Big Snack was better than McClendon otherwise we would have seen more of him.

I don't agree with this. DL is notorious IMO for feeling more comfortable with vets rather than youth even when performance is different. While the NT's first priority in our D is not to get sacks....Hampton ZERO...McLendon 1.5. That happened in about a tenth of the snaps of Hampton.

That being said, I actually feel sorry for our D. They really got put into some bad situations this year. Yes, early on in the year, they made some mistakes, but since the KC game (not including that game), our D has played very, very well. Good enough to win games. They played 3 with a backup Qb since then and then Ben just didn't show up after getting hurt. Against SD he looked horrible. Then against Dallas and Cinn he throws the INTs to lead to losses. If those games, just the most recent 2 where Ben blew it, we are sitting at 9-6 with a shot at winning the division with a win this weekend and a Balt. loss. Sad really. It is really sad. Throw in the Punt Return for a TD against Balt., a game the D played well enough to win and the 8 TO debacle against Cleveland where they played pretty lights out despite the field position they constantly had to defend and put up half of our points, and you can see how sad the D should truly be at the moment.

    Just looked it up.

We gave them 5 possession starting inside our territory. We had 1 and that didn't come until the 4th Qtr.

Our first possession started at the 41 after the D gave us a 3 and out. After that: 21,20,14,9,26,16

    2nd half: 21,15,18, CLE 44, 35,15,26,3

    No wonder we couldn't score.

There was an interview with a steelers coach earlier in the season in which they talked specifically about McClendon. His problem wasn't physical it was mental. He didn't know the playbook and was frequently out of position. Some claim that there is a veteran bias or some other such nonsense, but when a player doesn't do his job bad things happen. A perfect example of this is Kiesel getting turned and pushed out of his gap on a zone run against the raiders(?) that went 60+ for a touchdown. IF McClendon doesn't know the playbook then yes Hampton is better.

I can give you another example from the offensive perspective. Down by 3 in the Super Bowl against the cowgirls. Holliday is playing due to an injury to ???. O'donnel drops back to pass and the cowgirls blitz. Holliday has the hot read, but misses the blitz. O'donnel throws to a spot, oops no Holliday and the cowboys go up by 10 guaranteeing victory.

Wallace has shown talent when his mind is in the game... a spoiled brat that needs to mature on and off the field. Another yr. or so he's going to be an awesome player whether in Pittsburgh or elsewhere. At this point in the season he still hasn't shown the consistency of a Fitzgerald by skill. Larry's numbers are being held by the on going QB situation though thats another topic. I would give wallace another chance only if he jumps off his high horse ref. $ thats going to be the common denominator if he wants to continue wearing B&G.

Wallace is too young to give up on the team should franchise him and go from there. If he leaves the Steelers Brown will see more double coverage.

Let him walk. He set the tone for the entire season by holding out all summer while his teammates labored in the hot sun learning a new offense, failing to negotiate with the team in good faith, dropping numerous passes, failing to give maximum effort and then blabbing to the media that the team needs to keep him more involved or he loses focus. I'm not blaming this poor, pitiful excuse for a season completely on Wallace BUT he was definitely a big part of the problem and not part of the solution. As I've stated before, Wallace has already had the best two seasons of his career IMHO. He'd look good in silver and black. Goodbye and good riddance!

Do we get anything for Wallace if he signs elsewhere next season? In hindsight, with the season he ended up having and the chances of him returning to us next year, would have been great to get a couple draft picks for him.

I think I read somewhere that we'd get a third round compensatory pick but I'm not sure. Can someone confirm?

I thought he was unrestricted unless we franchise him.

I was probably one of the biggest Wallace haters on this board. But I will say this, if the guy gets his head out of his ass, and comes to play, I d keep him. When he made the comment about losing focus bc hes not getting the ball,, I wouldve put his ass on the bench with a clip board. Right after he made the comment, he dropped 2 balls before half time.

Dont know what happened to him. Got greedy? Got big headed? Got bad advice? What he needs to do is sit down with Hines and lesson.

I think you could argue that Wallace's numbers were effected by quarterback play this year. I would contend that all of the receivers might have been effected by the quarterback situation they faced this year. While they did drop some passes and fumble some balls I'm not sure they entirely at fault this paticular year!

I look for him to sign(with another team) for less money
than was offered by the PGH Steelers. AKA Rod Woodson.
    Its the principle!

Hey Rukus notice how Ben said "when we EXECUTE" this offense can work? This is EXACTLY what we have been saying.

I wouldn't want him back for $2 million per year. He hurts this offence more than he helps us. We're not a gunslinging offence anymore where he can just run go routes all day long. We are now a possession style offence and we need possession receivers. Having Brown, Wallace and Sanders out there will hurt us, not help us. They are not a good fit for a possession offence, not to mention that we need a big WR who can fight for the ball in traffic and go up and get it at its highest point. It's not about the money, it's about what wallace brings to the team, and he isn't a good fit anymore.

Brown can be a very good deep thread, and so can Sanders. How many deep threads do we need?

ben better worry about ben. he better learn to throw a 10' pass to his RB's.

give him a big posession receiver and he will try to force the ball in as he does to heath.

as for brown, he's as posession as you can get from a receiver. that's what he's good at. dan marino made a living off 2 small receivers.

sure ben may want a big target for all his high throws. when he goes deep he doesn't have to be accurate. when you try to make him a posession qb it goes against his accuracy or lack there of.

bens a gun slinger and they are going to try and make him a game manager? not going to happen and he will fight it the whole way as he did this year.

i see them having one of two options. 1. get rid of haley and his dink and dunk. 2 get rid of ben for a game manager qb.

wallace should be the least of their worries. i hope they don't figure on taking all his deep threats away to make him play a posession qb. he'll fight that too.

Since when did dink and dunk QB's become game managers? Brady and Manning throw mostly short stuff and then they use that to open up the deeper stuff. They are pretty much dink and dunk QB's. Are they only game managers?

There's no need to go deep every 3rd play
