I know the Steelers offense is bad, I mean bad bad, but they are 4-3, with a 3-2 record against the AFC Conference, and a 2-0 record against the AFC North. The Jaguars are a really good team. Check the Steelers vs Jaguars history. The Jaguars mostly play great and win in Pittsburgh alot. Minkah Fitzpatrick and Kenny Pickett got hurt in the game. The defense had some head scratching moments. But they did force three turnovers. The Steelers offense did not capitalize on those opportunities. If the Jaguars were a bad team, and defeated the Steelers, the narrative would have been "The Steelers play down to their competition". Lol. Again, the Jaguars are good. I did not come into the season thinking the Steelers were great. Aside from losing to the Texans, the Steelers losing to the 49ers and Jaguars were expected by me. Pittsburgh obviously can not dig a hole for themselves, so they almost have to beat the Titans on Thursday to stay high in that AFC North division. If they win, they will be 5-3. I am saying the obvious, but the offense has to play better, and by better, I mean throw the ball to George Pickens more, and stop throwing the ball short of the first down marker on third down plays. Lmao

Amazing what a running game can do and between Najee and the Oline, we have zilch.

Denver ran for 159 yards today and dominated KC.

The problem is not just about today, this is about that our offense is just awful in the last few years but Canada kept his job for another year despite that... it's just a embarrassment

Every team can have bad games, I understand that but when it's been 55 games we haven't had a game with 400 yards of offense, it's such a big deal

For our loss today, I don't think it's one of the 10 worst losses since 2021 for the steelers since there were so many other losses way worse than that, like when they were down 41-3 vs Bengals in 2021 as an example

Steelers lost 10-41 in that game. Ugly loss. I understand what you are saying, and this offense is bad, but some people talk as if the Steelers are 2-5 or 1-6. They are 4-3. And in all of their four wins, the offense had a moment, especially in the fourth quarter where they had a great drive to score a touchdown. It comes down to consistency. And the magnifying glass is on the defense so much, that any one little or big mistake they make in a game, it looks worse because the offense is so bad, that the defense has to play near perfect. It's too much stress on the defense. The defense gives up yards on the ground and through the air, but they force turnovers and don't really give up a lot of points. The offense just has to play better.

To me it shows how close we are to being a good team. We are literally a competent offense away. Our defense held the Jags to 20 points and caused 3 turnovers... we were in the game and down a score in the last 6-7 mins of the gam with some key guys down.

It just sucks how inept we are offensively. We have zero room for error at all times. We can't have one drop (DJ's to start the game) literally ruin our entire first half. We had a TD on our first scoring drive but Kenny just didn't see it/throw it for some reason. Our line struggles too much and Kenny misses too many easy plays. He has heart, and he has it in the 4th.... but until he makes the routine plays a bit more routinely, we are going to struggle offensively no matter who is calling the plays.

The irony of all of this is that we have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way out. If we can find a way to win the next two we roll into the Browns/Bengals games with some momentum and a chance to push ourselves into playoff contention.

The problem is that this team, even if it were to make the playoffs, has no shot at making any sort of deep run in them. Not the way the game is now played and structured and not the way the AFC in particular is stacked. You might beat a KC, a Buffalo, a Miami, or a Cincy in a playoff game in spite of this offense. You're not beating three of those in a row, because you have to be able to score points in order to succeed in the NFL these days.

Edit: The lowest number of points scored by a winning team in the AFC playoffs last year was 23. The next lowest was 24 and the remaining 4 were 27 pts or greater. We haven't scored 23 pts or more in 3 straight games since weeks 9-11 in 2020.
