in my opinion two things need to change next year. how can we get more pressure on d and a consistant running or passing game. i dont care which one just be consistant in one phase. woodley has dissapeared since his payday and harrison is a shell on two years ago. i dont know what to do but i am sick of watching our qb get hit and every game u watch teams are knocking qbs around. even jags knocked brady around today and we cant touch him. i dont care if it means switching to a 4-3 or what but i want sacks

Well the key to any good 3-4 or 4-3 is getting a good pass rush with just 4 guys on most downs.

In the 3-4 sometimes they do that with disguise, but at the end of the day you need at least 4 guys who are too much to handle 1 on 1.

There was a time where A. Smith, Hampton, and our OLB's did exactly that, but this year they did not.

Also I was just thinking about Woodley, but this is his first year playing aside of Hood. Man, I don't know what to think of Hood. He is okay, but not first round level. I don't know what the Steelers were thinking drafting two ends in the first round, but none of them are playing on JJ Watt level that is for sure.

For offense, I thought if we took it down to basics, and had a power running game, Ben could easily covert some 3rd downs and hit his receivers deep on PA and we would be very successful. I vote developing a strong run game.

We really need Mike Adams to stay healthy. That guy is a beast in the run game and can become something special as his overall game improves. A healthy, stable OL will go a long way to improving our woeful running attack. Adams-Foster-Pouncey-DD-Gilbert with a heaping helping of Will Johnson should do the trick.

I think they should take a good look at moving Harrison inside to Foote position, and starting Worilds at OLB. WIth a healthy Silverback and Woodley I think our rush improves by default. Hopefully T'Amu doesn't do any serious jail time so we can see him disrupt some opposing OL's next year.

In a word, health will go a long way towards improving our running game and pass rush.

Motto for Offense in 2013: ATTACK THE CHAINS

Motto for Defense in 2013: TURN OVERS

Aside from personnel moves I think they need to work longer and harder. If I'm MT before I let them go for the offseason I let them know what to expect in camp next year...pain and puke. They better come into camp ready for war because he needs to get rid of the dead wood.

I think it is simple in concept, but complex to implement - they need to fix the running game. Ben will be Ben - he isn't going to change, and would thrive if he didn't feel it were all up to him to save the day. When he is having an off day, we need another way to move the ball. The D will be OK I think.
