The Officiating is ruining the game. Literally ALL asserts moving forward should be put into the offense. You are no longer allowed to play sound defense in this league due to how badly the officiating caters to offenses. No point in spending the salary cap on defense. You can no longer tackle QB’s or defend passes. The calls on 42 and 31 were absolutely egregious. The game is ruined until they start addressing this.

No one cares. We still watch. Millions would have to stop watching for them to attempt to fix this. It is absolutely horrid how bad it is.

Just called another on the defense on a play where they held them on third down and it would have forced a punt. Ever notice they call penalties in some of the most critical moments of games. It just gets old. The coaches and players need to step up and complain.

We have to find out how to get on the good side of the scripting. The league wants to love Lawerence. The team can’t sell tickets and they are forced to play in London every week. The sport is becoming unwatchable. We should go ahead and give them something to throw a ruffing flag for.

The 5 yard defensive holding is the go to game changer. It’s easy and always extends the drive.

Missed roughing, cant spot an obvious first down without review, offside on the offense on a field goal.. how are these clowns not point shaving?? We benefited from a terrible spot last week and cleveland was handed two wins in a row by the refs. These guys are more crooked and impactful on games than nba refs

You are right. We only care when it affects our boys. I remember years ago the refs blew a huge call that cost Miami a Playoff win. One of their fans got a banner made up saying something like the refs blew it and flew his tiny plane all over Miami.

This got way worse after the NFL got into bed with the gambling sites. It’s funny that players get into trouble for gambling but the sites can sponsor the NFL and not think the NFL will guide games in a certain direction depending on how much is wagered on the game. Imagine how much was made on some of these upsets by the gambling sites. They took the required extra point at the end of the game out for that very reason.

If they do they get fined. The NFL even acknowledged 2 bad calls that essentially gave the game to the Browns last week, but nothing will change. Until there is a gambling scandal, or even 'honest' mistakes, but something that leads to many losing bets because of bad calls, then you might get some congressional investigation. even than it is a long shot, the money that is flowing is making Billionaires richer, and that is something they really like.

If Brady or Mahomes gets slammed down like that then there are flags flying from every direction.

Bad day... for this crew. Last week was horrific though for the whole season (something I expext to be topped in the upcoming weeks). All this stated, Officiating has been inconsistent going on for over five NFL Seasons; both Regular and Post Season.

Today's officiating, or lack thereof, isnt anything new at all. Anyone here remember that infamous $1 Billion Dollar Settlement the NFL had?! Think they want to do that again?!

This level of over officiating is merely a symptom of the NFL attempting to over correct itself for the tremendous blowback and negative PR it received over a decade ago. These new rule changes favoring the Offense isn't just by mere coincidence or to have more butts in seats. It is designed to lessen the amount of injuries and therfore future potential legal problems the league may face in the future.

Obviously we all know what the trade off is to over correction of anything; over abundance of aspects detrimental towards the entertainment and/or enjoyment of whatever form of escapism we may have.

In short?! Thank the Settlement the League got itself into. As a result, players and fans get pissed off while Officials are the sacrificial lamb of it all.

That’s what’s so frustrating. The refs are never consistent and too much in the game is left up to the refs evaluation on a play. I really hate the roughing the passer and pass interference penalties. There is just no consistency across the league and some if the calls are so ticky tak or impractical.

you tell me how Neal was supposed to tackle the QB on that play. He did not hit him high or low and he did not land on him with his full body weight. It was a perfect play in the context of the rules. I just don’t understand. There is player safety and then there is giving too much power to the refs. Goodall is going to ruin the NFL. They gave essentially already destroyed the physical aspect of the game. They are on the verge of truly turning it into flag football.

The refs clearly do not do an excellent job. It’s not just this game. It has been getting worse and worse. I understand they want to protect the players and encourage more scoring but some of these calls are just ridiculous. Did you see the play where Watt nicked Lawrence’s pass back into him and Watts hand accidentally brushed Lawrence’s helmet. Lawrence was expecting a penalty on Watt for hitting his helmet. I mean that is what we have come to. It’s not even practical. Many of these players head butt each other in celebration after a good play yet a hand to the helmet is going to cause a concussion. Cmon it’s getting ridiculous. I understand the refs don’t make the rules so the rules need to be honestly evaluated to bring some practicality back to the game. The refs are highly in accurate with the PI calls as well as the offensive holding calls.

This is the one that did it for me - because literally on the next Jax series (prior to the injury at the half), they did the same to KP, right in front of the same ref... no call. I never like to say you win or lose by the refs - but holy moly, something seemed up today.
