Notice many aren't talking about how on our 3rd drive how well we are moving the ball, and how well Najee is running it.....they get down to about the 34, and they change RBs .....the very 1st thing that happens is ....Warren misses a block, and KFP is sacked for a big loss , and then about two plays later Warren drops a pass, and We have to kick a field goal. See I believe We need both, and like both, but they should continue to be played as they are.

That's on the OC .. Play design and letting the talent he has do what they do best .. Why keep to we do what we do crap ?..Our OC needs to grow up .. When you see the D is having problems with your we run down hill game do not take that away.. Insert the Pony and start faking and cross bucking quick pitches to the non best blocking back .. Screens end arounds AKA Jet sweeps.. Create more space and keep on doing what is working , but make it even harder to stop..

No lie I have playbooks from way back in the day that do exactly that and our OC needs to command that we can do multiple ..These guys are Pros they can execute multiple sets with multiple wrinkles from one play call to the next .. More shifting more attacks from the same grouping .. We called one of our groupings the Nascar package ..We used all our fastest guys and called plays that fit those guys..

I do not see enough of Chess playing from our staff hints the reason they say we are running a College approach .. If we desire to be great we must adapt the playbook to fit our skill sets we must use all skill sets and learn to combine those groupings with multiple attacks that use what those specific players in each groupings do best ..

It's old and a very simple concept when designing plays .. Make the Defense defend every blade of grass with each set you intend to run.. It sounds simple ,but it is the very best way to design a attack.. IE if Najee is in a single set from the right hash I would be running right and the PA would be short left deep left crossing middle short flat right and deep right .. I really dont care the grouping when you build it just design the plays to stretch the Defense and then you start using personnel that makes those plays have a greater chance of success..

Prior to the Rams game, I noticed that Najee would often get hit behind the line. On more than one occasion, he was hit just after getting the hand off from Pickett. On many of those plays, Najee still managed to provide 2-3 positive yards. When Warren gets hit behind the line, the Steelers typically take a loss of yards.

    I prefer Najee.

However, both backs will be better if the O-Line can control the LOS. Now that Diontae Johnson is back, this is going to be even more pronounced because opposing defenses will have to play more honestly in the secondary; i.e. there will be less opportunities for them to heavily stack the box. I believe we saw some of this in second half of the game @ Rams.
