I wasn’t able to watch the second half of the game and have only seen the highlights. Anybody have any thoughts on Dan Moore’s performance? Broderick Jones should be starting irrespective of Moore’s play today but I was just curious if he held up okay.

I'm not sure if any of the issues picking up the Rams' blitzes early were on him, but he seemed to hold up fine. One of the big runs had him pull and block inside, which was impressive. Moore was good today. The Steelers' problem right now is that their two best tackles both play the left side. I'm not sure either is comfortable at right tackle and Okorafor is the one who should be benched.

He had a pretty good game, from what I saw anyway. Not sure about how his performance would hold up under hard scrutiny, but on the surface, he had a better game than usual.

Big Dan was the man today. He earned the right to start next week.

I just saw your comment in another thread. Thanks for the info. I think it may be close to the time we put that positional flexibility we always preach regarding offensive line play to the test and move Moore to the right side. We need to get our best players on the field if we’re going to make a post season push and Jones needs to be playing.

I'm just going on what we saw in preseason and at the end of the game against the 49ers. Moore really seemed to struggle when they put Jones in and moved him to the right side.

Pretty much everyone did their jobs on that run. Even Cole held his own.

    Chucks was the issue today
Moore whiffed on a few blocks on the second level, but did play better than we've seen him play.
Really thought they should have moved Moore over this summer and let the rookie start at LT.

I don't like the way Dan Moore always seems to get pushed backwards.

Even on this play the line of scrimmage is the 13, and you see SEUMALO has already pushed his guy to the 10 yard line, while Dan Moore is 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage blocking his guy. You see this on a lot of runs to the left when Dan Moore plays, where the RB is constantly running into the back of Moore 2 yards deep into the backfield.

This to me is why Jones should be the starter, he can push the line forward, something Dan Moore just does not do.

Moore absolutely bullied his man on that play. That was a great block.

Moore is better than Chuks but I guess he can’t play RT? What the heck do we do with our first rd pick?

just because jones was a first round pick doesn't mean he has to play LT. if jones can play RT then put him there and make the line better. play him where we need him instead of on the bench. chuks needs to become the swing tackle riding the pine. this ain't rocket science.

Dan Moore played well today. That much is true. However, next week will not be so forgiving.

    He did practice there

Wasn't going to happen. Next season they can let Chuks walk and save 8,750 mill. He is making to much dough to be benched. Just reality. And how do we know if Moore or Jones could transition to right tackle? Especially Jones. Move Moore to right tackle in mini camps and training camp and draft one.

we have tried that with moore and hasn't worked. jones has played a little in college and even practiced every day in college on that side. put the two best on the field, the heck with what we are paying them. both backup qb's are making more than kenny, should we play them instead? what the heck is with people thinking jones can only be a left tackle? many times rookies start on the right side and then transition to the left. put the guys in spots that helps the team win.
