And the fact that our OL has been just "bad" since he's been here. In the 2nd half of last year, many people were talking about the OL "improving" and the rushing game getting going. But others countered that the schedule including Indy, ATL, Car., LV and Cleveland had more to do with the improvement. So far, in 2023, the OL looks poor, another year into Meyer's "system."

The OL improved over the last part of the year, who is to say they can't
this year? My question is why does it take our OL half the season to start
playing well? They have had mini camp, regular, trading camp now 6 weeks
Into season and still no running game.C'mon man something ain't right here.

Do you have some sort of alert set up for anything negative about the Steelers?

Seriously, I will balance the well-deserved criticism you receive with some honest praise. I haven't seen a thread about Meyer, but it is probably worth looking at his impact. Maybe we were fooled by the offensive line's improvement last season. I do take issue with the plural. It is one former Steelers lineman doing well elsewhere. We're going to get a good look at him this week.

By the way, would this be a good time for me to mention that I argued against the idea of getting rid of Dotson before they moved him? Yes, I believe it is a good time for that.

I would bet any player actually doing well outside of the Steelers was said on this board by many that they suck. I for one have only really said T. Edmunds sucked, and how is he doing elsewhere??? LoL. I think He finally got His 1st start last week. In a loss. Also judging how well a player is doing on another team from just a 1/3 of a season isn't a very good barometer. I believe many jumped on J. Dobbs band wagon a few weeks back.....how is that going now???? I believe He's still looking for His 2nd win of His career. LoL

It’s not even 1/3 of the season. Dotson has played well for 3 games. The majority of his praise has been for his run blocking. He was a good run blocker here despite claims by many that he sucked. His issues were penalties

Dobbs took over an AZ team that was known as a dumpster fire heading into the 2023 season. I heard ZERO analysts preach of the high quality of their roster. And yet, Dobbs, who you would be stretching to even label him as a journeyman put up:

    62.8% completion rate.
    1215 yards.
    6 TDs, 3 int.

But then you have Kenny Pickett, who's Steeler team was lauded by many as a "sleeper" team to look out for in 2023 that was "full of talent" and KP put up:

    59.7% completion rate.
    1027 yards.
    5 TDs, 4 int.

And yet you are throwing shade at Dobbs who has superior #s across the board on a far worse team. Am I claiming Dobbs is some kind of quality starting QB? Not at all, but he's currently playing better than Kenny.

Given how awful you claim the Steelers are, how can any team be far worse?

If you don't have doubt about Tomlin getting the best out of his players, you have blinders on.

Yeah....you failed to mention that this is the 3rd team He's played on, He has played in 14 games, and only 6 on the cardinals, and He is still looking for His 2nd win, but try again.

Well, hold up there. I didn't even bring up Pickett's last year's 2nd-to-last QB rating, I only brought up each QB's performance from this year since you were so quick to blow shade on Dobbs, when in fact, he has outperformed Kenny's #'s this year. Them da facts there.

I’m disappointed in Pickett’s performance so far but in no universe would I rather have Dobbs over Pickett. But Kenny needs to get his rear in gear after the bye or those voices of doubt will get louder and louder as the season progresses.

I in no way advocated Dobbs over Kenny; all I was doing is pointing out that factually Dobbs has had a better statistical season thus far, defending him from having his shine busted by an ill-informed poster. Dobbs has never appeared as an NFL-worthy QB, but he has over-achieved in most fan/analysts eyes who have paid attention this year, while Kenny has continued to disappoint.

Dobbs was a 4th-round "throw away" pick, never expected to do much. Kenny was a 1st-round draft pick, who, so far, threw for 1027 yds in 2023, for 6.5 apa, 59.8% and thrown 5 TDs and 4 int. who is listed as 28th this season. As you say, it's time Kenny kicked it up a few notches, big time.
