Pickett Rookie cards.

I never bought two copies except for the Xmen re-release in the 90's where I got the multiple covers, the limited edition #1 cover and I think there was a special Magneto cover for it as well. That was my only ever vice, buying comic books. During high school I had a 15-20 dollar a day habit where I was buying just about every marvel title. Thankfully it kept me from drinking, drugs, smoking and loose women.

 

I just went down to my basement mantle and I have a Bradshaw rookie card in plastic but not graded

I’m sure someone gave it to me but I have no idea who

I can see it happening in the 70's like you said (my brother did it with vinyl albums always buying 2 or 3 of the same ones because he must have foresaw CDs and digital music), but the word "collectable" hadn't been invented yet when several of us were young and ignorant. JEH was still working on that fire thing invention.

 

I got an autographed 2022 Panini Prestige Pickett card from a pack last year. The only time I've been lucky with that. It's numbered 11 of 25. Worth a couple hundred or so, depending on the Steelers' (and Kenny's) fortunes. Of course, the real worth is always how bad the other person wants it.

 

I have those , and a couple of the special Magneto covers.

 

Went to a card/ memorabilia show in 95' Harrisburg farm show building.. Saw Lloyd, kordell and a few others...good times

 

I have a football signed by Plaxico Burress

I have friend I haven’t seen in 50 years who had an extensive comic collect properly maintained and he was going after collectible stuff back then

I can only imagine what that is worth now

The goodwill store near me has an entire rack of AB jerseys for $2

I’m sitting outside enjoying the fall evening weather and it crossed my mind these jerseys could be stuffed with straw to make scarecrows or used for sighting for archery season

 

Now that is making good use of an unwanted product.

 

I was at trax farms last weekend and they had an autographed photo of the Beave from
(For some folks) leave it to beaver… it was addressed to some random person. 15$ I couldn’t pull the trigger hahahahaha

 

It's Halloween coming up....I'm sure people could think of a good costume to make from one. Run around throwing things at people, and have burned feet. LoL
