I think most people knew Purdy is a product of that system. He runs it well, but when you take out McCaffrey and Samuel, Purdy is just another average to above-average QB. That's not exactly a bad thing for the last overall pick.

Oh yeah.....Larry Csonka posted a champagne cork popping to celebrate all the undefeated teams losing.

They were a great team, but they have always felt slighted because nobody believes they are the best team ever.

They weren't. They weren't even the best Dolphins team that decade. The '73 squad that beat the crap out of the Vikings in the Super Bowl was better.

Well if we don't improve ourselves, and on offense especially it won't matter if we win the division.

I agree. I think the Steelers and the Raiders from Csonka's era were way better teams as well.

That Browns game showed why Purdy was a 7th round pick.

    The Steelers you big dummy;)

Golfing today, this is the comment I heard at least 5 different times about what happened to SF. "man, I hate anyone to get injured but damn if it ain't good for our guys." (Eagle fans) Sadly, injuries play to big a part as to who makes it to the show. I would rather our boys win it against other teams best but I'd have no problem having to play a team in the SB who has to use 50% of their practice squad. Needless to say we'd still be sweating balls with 2 minutes on the clock.

    THIS season???

I’m so sick of the refs.

Put microchips in the football so we know exactly where it is. Third millennium and we are using sticks and chains by visually impaired Magoo’s.

I want more challenge options too. ESPECIALLY in the 4th quarter, endzone, and playoffs.

I’m so sick of these dunces negatively impacting games.

All four teams have better defenses than offenses and it's not even close.

He still got 49ers in the position to win the game. Their kicker missed a 41 yard field goal. This was his worst game. Compare that to Pickett’s worst game. Purdy is much better than Pickett so far in their nfl career.

He didn't win them. Quarterbacks don't win games. Teams do.

Watch Super Bowl LV. I don't mean that you should look at the box score. Watch it. Watch Mahomes try to overcome an offensive line that was thoroughly overmatched by the Buccaneers and fail despite making some unbelievable plays.

Was Jim Plunkett better than Dan Marino? Plunkett won two Super Bowls! Marino lost his only appearance.

Purdy also has better weapons than Pickett, he also has a better playcaller .

if THIS team gets complacent, their problems are far deeper than anyone imagines.

I did watch it, and this is not an argument. Just a question. If Qbs can lose games on their own, or mainly on their own in spots of the game.....then therefore they can win mainly on their own in certain spot of the game. No???
Now again if I switched Mahomes, and Trubisky....would there be a difference in the amount of wins in KC???

No, though they can do more damage on their own. If a quarterback throws six interceptions, it's damn difficult for his team to win, but I do not accept your premise that they can lose entirely on their own, either.

Judging quarterbacks solely or primarily on wins and losses is lazy, ignorant, and inaccurate.

If you switched Travis Kelce and Rodney Williams or Chris Jones and Breidan Fehoko, that would also affect the win total in Kansas City. It wouldn't do as much because quarterbacks affect the game more than other positions, but they don't win on their own. Perhaps you need to watch the way the Buccaneers blew out the Chiefs in the Super Bowl again to remind you.

You still didn't answer my question. Was Jim Plunkett better than Dan Marino? The former was 2-0 in the Super Bowl. The latter was 0-1. By the logic implied in your questions, Plunkett was better.

You honestly believe that they would make a bigger difference than Trubisky changed with Mahomes???
Ok. I believe You are totally wrong, but that's Your prerogative. .
Hell I don't know why Mahomes wins all those MVPs then???

Just my opinion....Best team ever or not, the '72 Dolphins are still the ONLY team to win a championship while going without a loss during the regular season. That feat has never been matched. The 49ers and Bears had a 1-loss season, and the Patriots went undefeated in the regular season but failed to win the championship. Those teams came close but did not match the '72 Dolphins.

Think about this. We are currently in the year 2023. 1972 was 50 years ago. No team has gone undefeated in the regular season AND won the championship that same year since 1972. It actually is a special thing. So far it is a unique thing. It has not been duplicated. Larry Csonka should celebrate his team that accomplished this. By all standards, it is his accomplishment and his right to celebrate.
