To be honest, most of us knew deep down that this year was not ours for the taking. I was actually afraid that we would get in, loose in the first and screw ourselves out of a few draft slots. Now if Cleveland can just put the dagger in the rest of the way, that should be enough to shake things up as well as move us up a few spots so we can start reloading this team for when we get the next professional coach.......whatever made Tomlin go for that long FG?

You mean the kick that was all of a yard short?

If you've been at Heinz at all this year and seen Suisham in pre-game warmups, you'd see him hitting it from 55 consistently.

Tomlin gets off way to easy. I don't like how he handles the team, exspecially, the running backs, the quarterbacks, the special teams, the OC coach, the DC coach, and the most important the S & C coach, wait that is the whole team!

    Post game comments.......

Did you think about punting rather than attempting a field goal at the end of the fourth quarter?
No. We’ve got a great deal of confidence in Shaun and rightfully so. We wanted to give him an opportunity to do the job.

I have no problem at all with attempting a fg there. Was everyone else watching a different game? Offense couldn't do crap, kicking that fg was our best shot at winning the game. And in case no one noticed, Cincy didn't do squat off that miss, so it didn't hurt us in that regard at all.

I have a problem with the FG. Had we punted (assuming it didn't bounce into the end zone yet again), we stood a chance to pin Cincy deep in their own end cause a 3 & out and have fantastic field position for one last possession. I mean who wouldn't want the ball at mid field with less than a minute to go with Ben on the field? That used to be called "easy money", instead we let cincy punt us deep into our end and we all know how that worked out. I can see both points and the validity of attempting the FG, but it's never happened in Hines field, a 53 yard FG.

Did Tomlin not learn from earlier games? 50+ yard FG's just are not that easy.

and when the bengals complete a couple passes and flip the field or worse yet score you would be calling for Tomlin's head. The route he took have us the best odds of winning. You have to remember that sometimes a bird in hand is better than two in the bush.
